Ohio Insider: Fall Prospect Program - Final Weekend at Athletes in Action (Teams 6-8)





We would like to thank all who participated in the Central Ohio Fall Prospect Program at Athletes in Action. This was an opportunity for the class of 2017-2019 prospects to be put on college radars.

TOP PERFORMERS FOR TEAM 6

  • Devon Middlemus (Lakewood, 2018) hit the ball well on Sunday tallying 2 hits and 2 walks. Defensively, he showed range in the outfield and has an above average arm.
  • Nick Shroyer (New Albany, 2019) produced all day offensively for Team 6. He recorded 3 hits with an RBI and a walk showing a fluid load and compact swing. Defensively, he fields the ball out front of his body well and has a good transfer while working towards first base.
  • Joey Procop (Twinsburg, 2020) reached base 6 times on the day, tallying 3 hits including an RBI triple.
  • Justin Laley (Twinsburg, 2019) was unstoppable at the plate on Sunday. With 5 hits, 2 walks, and 2 RBIs, Laley shows power by using his lower half. He also showed well in the outfield tracking balls down and showing off a strong arm.

TOP PERFORMERS FOR TEAM 7

  • Blayne Robinson (Defiance, 2019, Shown Below) is a complete package on the baseball field. At first base, he shows good footwork and the ability to pick balls up out of the dirt. At the plate, he shows a comfortable stance with a smooth swing while recording 3 hits and 2 walks on the afternoon.
  • Keagan Wolfinger (Hilliard Davidson, 2018) had a great day at the plate tallying 4 hits, an RBI and 3 stolen bases. He runs well and and showed solid defense in the middle of the infield.
  • David Silva Jr. (Otsego, 2019) showed smooth hands in the infield while recording 3 hits and an RBI on the day. With a loose swing, Silva Jr was able to show offensive production for Team 7 throughout the fall.
  • Grant Van Winkle (Granville, 2020) uses a leg kick to produce power from his lower half and was able to record 2 hits and 3 RBIs on the afternoon. In the infield, he showed good footwork and a smooth transfer.

Pitchers Velo Team 7

TOP PERFORMERS FOR TEAM 8

  • Connor McCloy (Zane Trace, 2020, Shown Below) reached base 4 times on the day, showing a relaxed approach from the left side of the plate. He also showed good defensive ability at 1st base with good feet around the bag.
  • Evan Ulrich (Buckeye Valley, 2020) was solid defensively at shortstop and behind the plate. He recorded 4 hits, an RBI and a hit by pitch on the day.
  • Tyler Croskey (Ashland, 2018) showed confidence in his game offensively. He reached base twice with a hit and a walk while recording a stolen base on the day.
  • Jordan Fields (Pickerington Central, 2018) showed solid defense behind the plate and at shortstop. He recorded 3 hits and a walk on the day for Team 8 and is a good follow in years to come.
  • Tyler Chumita (Hilliard Darby, 2018) shows good feet and quick hands in the middle of the infield. He tallied 3 hits and 2 stolen bases on the afternoon and is an athletic player to follow in upcoming years
