Ohio Insider: Fall Prospect Program - Week 2 at Muskingum University (Teams 5-8)





We would like to thank all who participated in the Central Ohio Fall Prospect Program at Ohio Wesleyan. This was an opportunity for the class of 2017 and 2018 squads to be put on college radars.

TOP PERFORMERS TEAM 5

  • One of Team 5’s top all around performances from opening weekend at the Fall Program was RHP/3B Cameron Burford (Boardman, 2018). Burford totaled 4 hits in the double header including an inside the park home run and 3 RBIs.A few other prospects that were highlighted in game action for Team 5 were Evan Ulrich (Buckeye Valley, 2020), Kyle Gliha (Berea-Midpark, 2018) and Trevor Denning (Strongsville, 2018).
  • Ulrich (Buckeye Valley, 2020) had 3 hits in the double header. The C/3B showed good feet in the field with a quick snap throw from behind the plate.
  • C/SS Gliha (Berea-Midpark, 2018) smashed two triples in the double header while showing good hands defensively.
  • 3B/RHP Denning (Strongsville, 2018) had two big hits in Team 5’s win in game 2 of the double header. With a 2-run triple in the 1st inning and a double with a run in the 3rd inning, Denning was a big contributor to Team 5’s win.

TOP PERFORMERS TEAM 7

  • Eric Edman (Westerville South, 2018) had a day at the plate totaling 4 hits and 4 RBIs. Edman showed power in his bat roping a double and a triple in the double header.
  • Blake Carter (Williamsburg, 2018) also had a nice showing recording 2 hits and 3 RBIs in the double header. 
  • 2B/OF Ty Helmke (Johnstown Monroe, 2018) also tallied a few RB’s in the win over Team 5.
  • Jake Mancini (Circleville, 2018) threw well for Team 7 totaling 3 strikeouts in his outing. Using a short quick arm, Mancini’s FB was up to 75 mph with good feel for his secondary stuff

  • Zachary Mon, SS/RHP, Westland, 2019: FB 72-74, CB 62-63
  • Ty Helmke, 2B/OF, Johnstown Monroe, 2018: FB 68-70, CB 63-64
  • Andrew Miller, 3B/RHP, Westerville North, 2018: FB 68-71, CB 59-60
  • Jake Mancini, LHP, Circleville, 2018: FB 72-75, CB 62-64
  • Blayne Robinson, 1B/LHP, Defiance, 2019: FB 74-77, CB 61-63, CH 69

TOP PERFORMERS TEAM 6

  • C/1B Joey Procop (Twinsburg, 2020) had a great day at the plate, totaling 3 hits and 2 runs batted in for the white team.
  • Devon Middlemus (Lakewood, 2018) also played a part in Team 6’s two wins. Middlemus recorded 2 hits and 3 RBI’s in the double header.
  • A few other prospects that recorded hits in game action for Team 6 were Nick Shroyer (New Albany, 2019) and Drew Donaldson (Hilliard Bradley, 2019).
  • Michael Gordish (Westerville North, 2018) threw well in his outing showing quick arm action while recording 2 strikeouts.

TOP PERFORMERS TEAM 8

  • Louis Lipthratt (Dublin Scioto, 2018) threw well off the mound and totaled 2 hits and a sacrifice fly for Team 8.
  • Tyler Chumita (Hilliard Darby, 2018) played a solid middle infield showing good footwork and quick hands. Chumita also had 2 hits in the double header.
  • Jordan Fields (Pickerington Central, 2018) and Joshua Feyh (Teays Valley, 2018) both contributed to Team 8’s offensive production
