Scouting Report

2/12/17
6-foot-0, 183-pound athletic frame. Miller was a late invite to the event after turning heads by touching 89 mph at the IVL Scout Day. While he is more projectable on the mound he also showed tools that make attractive as a position player. A switch hitter that can make hard contact from both sides of the plate and an above average defender up the middle. At the plate he looks more comfortable from the left side but the right side isn’t far behind. Has the arm to stay on the left side of the infield. Continues to get better on the mound each time that we see him. He throws from a to high slot with long arm action. He uses a slight inward turn in his leg kick and shows a repeatable delivery. His fastball ran up to 87 mph, mostly sitting at 85-86 mph with occasional run. His breaking ball is thrown with good arm speed and features late 11/5 break at 73-74 mph. He also mixes in a changeup sold with good arm speed at 75-76 mph.

60 Yard Dash: 7.21
IF Velocity: 84
Exit Velo (Wood Bat): R 82, L 85

6/6/16
5-foot-11, 155-pound athletic frame. A talented switch hitting prospect that looks to be more advanced from the right side at this stage. Uses a similar toe turn load to initiate his lower half from both sides of the plate, creating efficient energy into contact. From the left side he is more simple with his hands, remaining compact to contact. From the right side he is much looser with his hands creating more whip through the zone. Registered an exit velocity of 83 mph from the right side and 81 mph from the left and ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Has great footwork and actions in the middle of the diamond. Arm works on the left side. Aided by a quick release. Gets rid of the baseball. Reached a top velocity of 81 mph across the infield Needs to add strength to his frame. On the mound the righty has a smooth delivery that he is able to repeat. Working through a high-3/4 slot he sat 80-84 mph. Also spun a curveball with some sharpness to with an 11/5 shape at 68-71 mph.
