Ohio Top Ten Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles - #2 Tyler Brown

Tyler Brown#2 Tyler Brown, RHP, Olentangy Orange, 2017 (Vanderbilt commit)
Scouting Report: Brown has a solid, muscular build at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds. He works through a high-3/4 slot with a long, loose arm action. He sat 88-91 mph last summer and touched 92 mph before needing Tommy John surgery. He has shown the ability to work both sides of the plate with arm-side run and sink at times. His curveball is a swing-and-miss pitch that has 11/5 shape with sharp break and good depth at 73-75. He also has feel for a 73-74 mph changeup with some fade.

Overview: In 2016, the top player in the 2017 class within Ohio, had an up and down year. Brown solidified himself as one of the top prospects in the Midwest and committed to Vanderbilt, but also needed Tommy John surgery. Brown, is the top ranked player in the 2017 state rankings and 56th overall for PBR. Look for Brown to have an outstanding spring campaign and summer when he is ready from his recovery from surgery.
