Ohio Top Ten Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles - #3 Chris Machamer

Christopher Machamer#3 Chris Machamer, RHP/SS, Massillon Washington, 2016 (Vanderbilt commit)
Scouting Report from 2013 Future Games: 6-foot-1, 178-pound two-way prospect with big time potential. May have been the top player at the 2013 Top Prospect Games. It is difficult to determine his position at the next level as he shows well in all areas of the game. On the mound, the righty uses a quiet, repeatable delivery. He throws with quick arm speed through a high-¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 86-88 mph and ran up to 90 mph on occasion. He also used a 70 mph breaking ball with gradual 11/5 break. He also showed a straight 72 mph changeup. In the field, he shows smooth, fluid actions. Takes good angles to the ball. Looks advanced for his age. Shows softness in his hands and a quick transfer. At the plate, he uses a balanced setup. Features a simple load with little wasted movement. Bat stays through the zone with uphill path. Truly hits the ball gap-to-gap. Surprising power at his age, which will only get better as he physically matures.

Look Ahead: Machamer, the second ranked prospect in Ohio's 2016 class and 82nd overall is a potential candidate for the Super 60 in 2016 as well as a possible draftee in the 2016 MLB Draft.
