CINCINNATI, OH - North Carolina commit Cameron Varga throws a gem striking out 15 in 6 innings.

The top two teams in the Miami Valley Conference squared off this past Friday at Summit Country Day High School.

Summit Country Day got on the scoreboard first when shortstop Jack Meininger stroked a single up the middle, and later came around to score in the first inning.  Unfortunately, that is all the Silver Knight bats could muster.

Between the 2nd and 3rd inning, the CHCA bats were on fire.  In those two innings, the Eagle lineup recorded six extra base hits.  Out of those six, three were home runs hit by Nick Weaver, Jonathan Banks, and Ricky Silvestri.

At the conclusion of the 3rd inning, CHCA had a 7-1 lead.

With the 7-1 lead, it quickly turned into the Cameron Varga show.  The likely #1 pitcher in Ohio's 2013 class was dominant to say the least.  Varga was on top of his game sitting 90-94 mph, while mixing in a filthy slider. Varga only gave up 2 hits during his 6 innings of work and had an outstanding 15 strikeouts.

CHCA wasn't done scoring.  In the top of the 6th Jonathan Banks did it again, smashing his second home run over the left field fence making the score 9-1.

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy showed why they deserve to sit atop the Division III standings in Ohio.
