Coldwater High School compiled a record of 20-9 in 2012. And, this year, the expectations are even higher.

The Cavaliers return five starters in the lineup and two pitchers. The opening day roster will feature a blend of experienced upperclassmen as well as some young newcomers.

Playing in the competitive Midwest Athletic Conference, Coldwater will be tested in the regular season by conference foes Minster High School, Versailles High School, and St. Henry High School.

Class of 2013

  • RHP Christian Schramm – The 6-foot-2, 185-pound righty went 5-2 with one save and a 2.94 ERA as a junior. He is one of the state’s top unsigned senior arms.
  • 3B Matt Selhorst – The senior infielder hit .291 with four doubles last season.

Class of 2014

  • 1B/OF Mitch Heyne – As a sophomore, he hit .310 with five doubles and one homerun.
  • 2B Drew Otten – The left-handed hitting infielder put together a .315 average with three doubles, one triple, one homerun, and 22 RBI last year.
  • CF Mitch Schoenherr – The junior returns to hold down the centerfield spot.

  • RHP Greg Gillliland – The 6-foot-4 righty has a low 80’s fastball that will find its way into the Cavalier rotation.
