Q and A with 2015 Buffalo Commit: Connor Regan (Walsh Jesuit)

Connor Regan, C, Walsh Jesuit, Class of 2015

PBR: Why did you choose Buffalo?

Regan: I chose Buffalo for a few important reasons. Buffalo is a rising school in the MAC who has competed for conference championships consistently the past few years. Buffalo is also a great academic institution. The coaches made me feel at home on my visits, and I connected well with the whole coaching staff.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Regan: I was considering Kent State, Michigan State, Marshall, College of Charleston, Albany, and Bucknell.

PBR: Where did the Buffalo coaches first see you?  How did your relationship develop with them?

Regan: Coach Ziroli first saw me at the Showcase for the Cure in 2013. After my first visit in the winter of 2014, the coaches continued to contact me on a weekly basis before they offered me on second visit in early May.

PBR:  You recently performed extremely well in PBR’s Top Prospects Games.  How did your performance help your recruiting process?

Regan: I attended the Top Prospect Games in 2013. It helped my recruiting process by getting numerous schools to follow me and show interest throughout the last year.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Regan: The coaches expect me to come in and split time at catcher with a senior my first year, but I am expected to be in the lineup every day.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?

Regan: I expected it to be a long process of trying to find a school that I liked as well as a school where the coaches like me. I knew it wasn't going to be easy, and I had to be patient.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Walsh Jesuit?

Regan: .438 1 HR 19 RBI's 6 BB's

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?

Regan: Toughest pitcher I've faced is tied between my two teammates at Walsh Jesuit Ryan Feltner (Ohio State commit) and Ty Shoaff (Mizzou Commit). Both are future draft picks.
