With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Ravenna Ravens

Team Name: Ravenna Ravens

2017 Record: 13-10
Conference Record: Portage Trail Conference, Metro Division, 9-5, 3^rd (Tied)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 2/2

Team Strengths:

Coach Outlook: “The graduation of eight seniors will be difficult to replace. However, there is a strong group of juniors ready to make their mark on the varsity level and the two returning players (Nate Holt and Michael Wunderle) were both 1st team all conference last season as sophomores. The lack of experience on the varsity level (both pitching and hitting) is a cause for concern. Depth will also be a concern as there are only 15 returning players from last season.”

PBR Outlook: Losing eight seniors means not as much varsity experience in 2018 for the Ravens and head coach Aaron Rauber. Look for the Ravens to get better as the year goes, while playing their best ball come tournament time.
