With 2020 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best 2021 high school coverage that can be found anywhere. 2021 Spring Team Preview: Roger Bacon Spartans

Team Name: Roger Bacon Spartans

2019 Record: 19-9
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/4

2021 Team Strengths:

1. Leadership- We still have several starters, in key spots, from our 2019 state final four team. We have 5 guys returning who were key contributors to team. They know what it takes for us to make a big run at the end of the year. These guys played in high pressure situations and that carries a lot of weight.
2. Athleticism- This roster is filled with multi-sport athletes. We have good team speed. We also have a lot of versatility. Several guys can play in different spots around the field. We have a staff of roughly 8-10 arms who will all contribute this season.
3. Grit- Our culture at Roger Bacon is to respect the game and grind at all times. Our student-athletes have created this culture and it carries from class to class. I am excited to watch these guys compete hard this season.

Coach Outlook: "This Roger Bacon Baseball team has a lot of unanswered questions, but the talent and potential to explode. The season being canceled in 2020 prevented us from watching guys compete for the first time at the Varsity level. I am excited to watch these guys get a chance to show how they match-up and compete. We play a brutal schedule, so that when tournament time comes, we are ready. Our league play is just as tough, if not tougher, than most conferences across the state of Ohio. We see a high caliber of baseball on a daily basis. Our unproven guys will be put to the test early and often."

Ryan Hallau, RHP/OF, 2021, 6-5/215, S/R 3-year starter 2019 stats- 37 ip, 6-0, 27Ks, First Team GCL. Ashland University Football Commit
George Janzen, C, 2022, 5-11/195, Jr, 2 year-starter 2019 stats - .362 avg, 16 RBIs, All-Tournament Team State Final Four as a Frosh
Jake Tschida, OF/LHP, 5-11/190, JR, 2 year starter 2019 Stats- .250 avg, 9 RBIs, Started 25 games as a Freshman. Big time upside
Connor Meyer - RHP/1B, 6-3 190, SR Committed to Penn St. Greater Allegheny for baseball. Huge upside, Tall and Lankey, will be very tough for us on the mound and at the plate this year.
