Storer is key arm in Moeller's Loaded Class of 2014

TJ Storer

Playing for a prestigious baseball program like Cincinnati Moeller has many benefits.  Sophomore, TJ Storer is already reaping those benefits at an early stage in his career.

Last spring Storer competed on the Moeller Freshman team and put up some outstanding numbers with a 3-0 record with 1 save in 26 innings, 36 K’s and 1.62 ERA.   When not on the mound, he can be found playing first base, where he batted .441 with 8 doubles and a homerun in 69 at bats.

The 6’0 200 pound left-handed pitcher attended PBR’s Top Prospect Showcase in Dayton last month.  He stated, “My overall experience at the PBR Winter Top Prospect Showcase was great.  I had an extraordinary opportunity to showcase my talents to the scouts.”

Since attending the showcase in December, TJ has received numerous emails from colleges inviting him to their camps.  The most notable schools are Cincinnati and Central Michigan.

With a 3.80 GPA, academics come first with Storer.  “The most important thing for me is to make sure that I go to a school that I could see myself at if I didn’t play baseball there.”

Even though he is very early in the recruiting process, TJ says “I would like to play at a program that is competitive and gives me the best chance to succeed on the field.”

On the mound, he throws a fastball that is consistently around 79-81 mph from a 3/4 arm slot. He shows good feel for a firm 74-76 mph changeup.

During the summer Storer displays his talents with the Cincinnati Flames.
