Alejandro Capetillo, 2B/RHP, Turpin HS, Class of 2014

5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect with short, athletic build. Registered a 7.18 60-yard dash. Projects as a second base type in the field. Uses short arm action through a high ¾ arm slot. Reached top velocity of 74 mph across the infield. Needs to consistently play through the baseball as he stays on his heels at times. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses a short stride with good use of his lower half. Generates good bat speed with line drive production. Overall pull tendencies in his swing. On the mound, he uses a slow tempo with decent arm action through a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sits 75-76 mph while curveball stays at 65-66 mph.

Austin Horwath, SS/RHP, Mason HS, Class of 2014

5-foot-9, 140-pound prospect. Registered a 7.4 60-yard dash. Likely projects as a second baseman at the next level. Shows short arm action through a low ¾ arm slot with above average hands in the field. Needs to improve transfer as it gets long at times. Reached a top velocity of 74 mph across the infield. At the plate, he shows some balance in his swing with a short stride and decent use of his lower half. Needs to get physically stronger. Takes a short, flat path to the ball that leads to a contact/line drive type swing. On the mound, his delivery requires some effort. Fastball sits 75-77 mph while his curveball stays at 67-68 mph.

Bailey Montoya, C, Moeller HS, Class of 2015

5-foot-10, 180-pound catcher. Shows good catching skills and blocking ability while framing well. Good grade arm strength from the crouch (76 mph) and pop times between 2.00-2.16. Needs to improve glove to hand exchange. Line drive type hitter. Shows good swing finish with hands. Still room for improvement, including better use of lower half.

Blake Jenkins, OF/LHP, Walsh Jesuit, Class of 2015

6-foot, 150-pound left-handed prospect with lanky, athletic build. Projects best as an outfielder at this stage, but shows potential to be a two-way player on the mound. Registered a 7.0 60-yard dash. From the outfield, he shows long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot with quick arm action. Throws have plenty of carry and registered a top velocity of 83 mph. At the plate, he hits from the right side with a wide base. Very good use of an explosive lower half. Consistently squared the ball up well with signs of pull power. Fluid rhythm to his swing. On the mound, he showed a 74-77 mph fastball. Uses a slow rhythm to his delivery. His mechanics and velocity would likely be aided by quickening his tempo and better incorporating his lower half. Curveball sits at 64-66 mph with gradual 1/7 break. Also displays a 68 mph changeup.

Crae Watkins, RHP/IF, Brookside HS, Class of 2014

5-foot-9, 148-pound prospect with thin frame. Registered a 8.02 60-yard dash. Projects as a second baseman. Uses short arm action through high ¾ arm slot. Displays average hands and feet. Needs to get physically stronger. At the plate, he starts with a slightly open stance and uses a short stride. Takes a short, level path to the ball. Contact type hitter. On the mound, he comes from a low ¾ to side arm slot. Fastball sits 74-75 with some run. Tends to be erratic at times and struggle with repeatability from the lower slot. Also displayed a 68 mph breaking ball that stayed on one plane.

Daniel Kirchner, OF, Olentangy Liberty HS, Class of 2014

5-foot-10, 165-pound athletic, quick-twitch prospect. Excellent raw skills with 6.94 60-yard time and solid arm strength (86 mph) with carry. Shows the versatility to play the corner outfield and infield. Good power potential as a hitter. Displays good bat speed that is quick into hit zone with longer swing finish. Good lower half torque. Solid player with plenty of potential at the next level.

Dante D’Andrea, RHP/3B, Westerville North HS, Class of 2015

5-foot-11, 200-pound prospect with big, soft frame. Registered a 8.68 60-yard dash. Best suited for corner infield position, but still needs to improve footwork. Uses short arm action with top velocity of 72 mph across the infield. In the outfield, his range is limited. Reached a top velocity of 68 mph on his throws. At the plate, he tends to be stiff. Shows potential with overall strength, but needs to get extension in his swing. On the mound, the righty sat 76-77 mph with his fastball and 61-63 mph with his curveball.

Drew Morrison, LHP/1B, Licking Valley HS, Class of 2015

6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect. Strong bodied hurler. Repeats delivery well with moderate arm speed through 3/4 slot. Shows balance and lower body finish. Good arm extensions. Fastball has heavy action, ranging 82-84 mph with occasional sink. Good off speed pitches. Uses slurvy type curve ball with two plane tilt and good arm action with change that shows sink action as well. Defensively, he is a first base type. Fields around bag well. Makes contact hitter and shows some potential, but likely projects as a pitcher at the next level. Registered a 7.69 60-yard time.

Evan McDonald, C/3B, Logan Elm HS, Class of 2015

6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect. Registered a 7.81 60-yard dash. Best position is behind the plate. Starts with a wide base out of the crouch. Pop times range between 2.16-2.18. Displays short arm action through a high ¾ arm slot. Reached top velocity of 72 mph from the crouch. At third base, he lacks good lateral movement. Needs to improve footwork. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses a short stride and makes good use of his lower half. Shows good bat speed and is short into the zone. Shows line drive production with the occasional pull power.

Jacob Kempt, OF/SS, Massillon Jackson HS, Class of 2015

6-foot, 165-pound prospect with athletic build. Registered a 6.85 60-yard dash. Shows the athleticism to play several positions at the next level. Interesting follow as he physically matures. Reached a top velocity of 74 mph on his throws. At the plate, he starts with a narrow stance. Tends to be a little stiff. Uses a short stride with little wasted movement in his load. Takes a short, level path to the ball with line drive production. Comes from athletic family. Older brother is a 2013 graduate committed to Cincinnati for football. He was also a highly rated baseball prospect. 

Jacob Zeek, 1B/RHP, Hamilton HS, Class of 2014

6-foot, 175-pound prospect. Registered a 7.93 60-yard dash. At this stage, best projects as a pitcher at the next level. Consistently pounds the zone. Shows command of three pitches. Uses quick arm action through a high ¾ arm slot. Delivery requires some effort. Fastball sits 80-83 mph with some run. Curveball shows gradual 11/5 braek at 68-71 mph, and changeup sits at 70 mph. At the plate, he starts with a slightly open stance. Uses a short stride and shows average bat speed into the zone. Displays pull tendencies in his swing.

Justin Childers, IF, Pickerington North HS, Class of 2014

6-foot, 185-pound infielder. Solid bodied athlete with good infield skills. More suited on next level as third baseman or offensive second baseman. Runs 60-yard dash in 7.02 seconds. Displays good feet and hands in field with good arm strength from all angles. More reaction fielder than range. Good hands. Hits with slight open stance from the right side. Has quick bat speed into zone. Squares barrel well with projectable power bat potential.

Kegan Lanter, C/OF, Thomas Worthington HS, Class of 2014

5-foot-8, 180-pound prospect with short, solid frame. Registered 7.22 60-yard dash time. Behind the plate, he registered pop times between 2.25-2.35. Reached a top velocity of 69 mph from the crouch. Shows the ability to play the outfield as well. Likely a left-field type. Uses short arm action and a quick transfer. Reached a top velocity of 70 mph on his corner outfield throws. At the plate, he uses a rotational based swing with a high hand trigger. Line drive type hitter with good power for his size. Best tool is his bat. High motor player.

Kyle Dockus, 2B/OF, Moeller HS, Class of 2015

5-foot-9, 145-pound infield prospect. Projects as a second baseman at this stage. Registered a 7.53 60-yard dash. Uses short arm action through a high ¾ arm slot. Reached a top velocity of 72 mph across the infield. Footwork is fluid, but needs to improve transfer and exchange. At the plate, he starts with an open stance. At times, he over compensates as he attempts to square up the front side. Uses a short stride with decent use of his lower half. Line drive type hitter that will improve as he gets physically stronger.

Kyle Galyk, OF, Marion Pleasant HS, Class of 2015

5-foot-10, 155-pound outfield prospect. Exceptional speed with a 6.66 60-yard dash. Right now, shows the speed to play center, but needs to improve the arm strength and mechanics. He reached a top velocity of 74 mph on his throws. Uses a low ¾ arm slot with long arm action. At the plate, he starts with a slightly open stance. Shows some balance and good use of a strong lower half. Squares the ball up well and shows good pull power for his size.

Matthew Carpenter, IF, Kenston HS, Class of 2015

5-foot-7, 130-pound infield prospect. Registered a 7.74 60-yard dash. Young prospect that likely projects as a second baseman at this stage. Shows long, loose arm action in the field. Throws well from all angles. Reached a top velocity of 74 mph across the infield. Displays good hands. Needs to stay aggressive to the ball. At the plate, he hits from both sides. From the left side, he is more slappy with opposite field tendencies to his swing. Looks more natural from the right side. Uses the field better from the right side as well. Should improve production from both sides as he gets physically stronger.

Matthew Kittleberger, RHP/1B, Perry, Class of 2014

6-foot-5, 160-pound prospect tall, lanky build. Projects as a pitcher at the next level. Shows slow rhythm. Still learning how to use his lower half. Sits 80-82 mph with his fastball with plenty more left in the tank. Shows average arm speed through a high ¾ arm slot. Curveball sits 64-67 mph with soft, gradual 11/5 break. Also uses a 72 mph slider. Throws his changeup near fastball arm speed at 75 mph with some fade to it. Defensively, he moves well around the bag and shows good receiving skills with his large frame and reach. At the plate, his swing can get long at times, but shows some power potential with his size.

Matthew Machamer, RHP/1B, North Canton Hoover HS, Class of 2014

6-foot-2, 165-pound prospect with tall, lanky frame. Registered a 7.09 60-yard dash time. At the plate, the right hander uses a short stride with a big load to his swing. Overall choppy rhythm. With size and athleticism, shows some potential. Reached a top exit velocity of 85 mph off the tee. Works well around the bag at first base. On the mound, the righty sits 79-81 mph with his fastball and 66-67 mph with his fastball. Potential for more velocity as he physically develops.  

Ronnie Murphy, C/3B, Lakota West HS, Class of 2014

5-foot-11, 176-pound prospect. Runs 7.18 60-yard time. Showed arm strength as catcher (77 mph) and infielder (73 mph). Third base type with good feet and hand. Behind the feet, he shows good lateral feet and frames well. Pop time is 2.08 to 2.15. Will decrease time as glove to hand exchange is improved. At the plate, he shows a squared hitting base. Uses low hand set with slight hitch. Bat speed is ok but needs to work on staying on top of baseball in zone.

Ryan Kennedy, OF, Hamilton HS, Class of 2014

6-foot, 160-pound prospect with athletic build. Registered a 7.25 60-yard dash time. Projects as a corner outfielder. Reached a top velocity of 80 mph with carry on his throws. At the plate, he starts with a slightly open stance. Tends to wrap his bat in his load. Shows good bat speed (81 exit velocity off the tee) with line drive type production. Not flashy, but all around solid prospect.

T.J. Dunn, OF, Mason HS, Class of 2014

6-foot-2, 170-pound outfielder. Good physical projection in body. Corner outfield type who ran 7.21 60-yard dash. Shows carry on throws from the outfield (86 mph). Hits with upright stance. Has bat speed (87 mph exit velocity off the tee) from shoulder trigger. Has controlled upper-cut in zone and makes contact with some power potential.

Zach Uzzel, 3B/OF, Carroll HS, Class of 2014

6-foot, 178-pound prospect with athletic build. Registered a 7.42 60-yard dash. From the outfield, he shows short arm action through a high ¾ arm slot. Reached a top velocity of 80 mph with a quick transfer. Not as polished in the infield. Needs to consistently play through the baseball and improve glovework. Throws from a low ¾ slot in the infield with a top velocity of 74 mph across the infield. At the plate, he starts with a slightly open stance. Takes short path to the ball. Shows opposite field tendencies in his swing. Will improve with better use of his lower half.
