Casey Stanley, RHP, Olentangy HS, Class of 2013

5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed pitcher. Achieves good arm extensions. Has deception by throwing from multiple arm angles. Displays 77-79 mph fastball and slurvy type breaking ball at 66-67 mph. 

Conner Faix, C, St. Edwards HS, Class of 2013

6-foot-4, 210-pound catcher with solid, lanky frame. Ran 7.31 60-yard dash. Hits from upright power stance, has shoulder level hand trigger but would like to see him enhance keeping load back to improve consistent contact. Has power potential. Also needs to enhance lower body tourque in swing finish.

Connor Holdren, IF/OF, Hilliard Darby, Class of 2013
6-foot, 190-pound prospect with solid, athletic build. Likely projects as a corner infielder or outfielder at the next level. Registered a 7.21 60-yard dash. Tends to field the ball deep. Needs to attack and play through. Reached a top velocity of 78 mph across the infield. Right-handed hitter with wide base and high hand trigger at the plate. Line drive type production with some pop in his bat.

Corey Gould, IF, Marysville HS, Class of 2013

5-foot-9, 163-pound infield prospect. Displays middle infield skills with range, soft hands and fluid footwork. Appears to be better suited as a second baseman on the next level. Ran 7.04 60-yard dash with 76 mph arm strength from all angles. Hits from the left side with good bat speed. Contact type hitter that squares barrel on ball from shoulder level trigger. Uses field well.

Eric Ashbrook, RHP, Mt. Vernon HS, Class of 2013

6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed pitcher. Strong body hurler with some physical projection. Moderate arm speed through 3/4 arm slot. Has good delivery and balance. Achieves good lower half hip pop in follow through. Front and back side arm extensions are also fine. Shows some pitchability with good mound presence and control. Fastball shows some late life down in zone with some heavy action at 86-88 mph (has topped 89 in past). Shows excellent downward plane feel on curve that he locates well at 73-74 mph. Outstanding arm action on 78-80 mph change.

Evan Jelley, RHP, CHCA, Class of 2013

6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect. Uses inward front side turn in delivery. Shows moderate arm speed through 3/4 slot. Fastball fairly straight, ranging 82-84 (topped out at 86). Curveball has downward tilt spin at 67-69 mph.

Gabe Snyder, LHP/1B, West Holmes HS, Class of 2013

6-foot-5, 210-pound prospect with solid, muscular frame. Potential two-way prospect. Likely projects best as a left-handed pitcher but didn't throw in this showcase. Good defensive action around the bag. At the plate, he uses a shoulder level hand trigger with moderate bat speed into zone. Makes solid contact to all fields. Could improve overall power by enhancing use of his lower half. Ran 7.31 60-yard dash.

Greg Basalyga, 3B/RHP, Pickerington Central HS, Class of 2013

5-foot-11, 205-pound prospect with thick, solid build. Big time bat with definite homerun power and high average potential. Uses upright stance with some bend in knees. Triggers bat from shoulder level. Squares barrel on bat well with strong hands and bat speed. Displays very good lower body hip torque finish. More than adequate defensive player. Shows hands and feet at third base with 82 mph velocity across the infield. On the mound, he projects as more of a reliever type than a starter on next level. Good delivery with 3/4 arm slot. Has some balance in delivery and control. Fastball shows some arm side run, ranging 85-87 mph. Shows downward spin on curveball (67-70 mph) along with some sink action on change-up (72 mph).

James Thomas, IF, Newark Catholic HS, Class of 2013

5-foot-9, 160-pound athletic middle infield prospect. Displays excellent infield skills. Shows soft hands and fluid foot work. Plays through the ball. Uses quick transfer and exchange and shows good arm strength (82 mph) from all angles. Ran a 7.01 60-yard dash time. Shows good potential at the plate. Has good hand load trigger and squares barrel on ball with finish. Line drive hitter that makes consistent contact and will hit for average.

Jarod Yoakam, IF, Marysville, Class of 2014

6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect with strong, lanky frame. Bat is his key. Has open stance. He squares the front side and triggers hands from shoulder. Quick into zone and squares barrel well with lower half torque finish. Fields ball well with hands. Has long backside arm extension and reaches top velocity of 80 mph across the infield. Likely projects as a first baseman on the next level.

Jason Johnson, RHP, Dublin Jerome HS, Class of 2013

6-foot-3, 205-pound right-handed pitching prospect. Strong, bull type presence and aggressive on mound. Shows good delivery with arm extensions and balance. Arm slot comes from 3/4 slot. Needs to improve lower half hip pop in backside follow through which will enhance his velocity. Fastball ranges 84-87 mph with some run action . Shows feel for downward spin curveball at 68-70 mph.

Jordan Martin, RHP, Harrison Co HS (KY), Class of 2013

6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. Projectable bodied hurler shows good balance in delivery with front and back arm extension and lower hip pop in follow through. Quick arm speed through upper 3/4 arm slot. Good mound presence. Aggressive with fastball showing some good late life in zone, ranging 85-87 mph, Has good feel for downward plane curveball with some depth, ranging 69-71 mph. Also has tumbling action on 74 mph change up that also showed good arm speed.

Keenan Carter, C, Edgewood HS, Class of 2013

5-foot-10, 195-pound strong bodied receiver. Shows good catching skills with blocking and framing ability. Has 80 mph arm strength from the crouch with good pop times of 1.89-2.07. Hits from open wide stance with shoulder level hand trigger. Could improve swing with more enhanced backside load. Ran 7.38 60-yard dash.

Kyle Fisher, IF, London HS, Class of 2013

6-foot, 165-pound athletic player with good middle infield range. Shows good hands and feet with good arm strength (76 mph) from all angles. Ran 6.95 60-yard dash. Hits upright with back knee bend. Triggers hands from chest level that flattens bat plane path into zone.

Kyle Lento, IF/C, Dublin Jerome HS, Class of 2014

5-foot-8, 168-pound middle infield prospect with solid build. Shows good middle infield skills but likely projects as a second baseman at the next level. Ran a 6.96 60-yard dash with 74 mph arm strength across the diamond. Also, shows versatility behind the plate as a catcher. Reached a top velocity of 77 mph from the crouch and pop times between 2.02-2.05. Hits from wide stance with excellent hand trigger and bat speed. Squares the barrel on the ball with good lower half torque finish. 

Masashi Sakamoto, OF/RHP, Dublin Jerome HS, Class of 2013

6-foot-1, 205-pound prospect. Strong bodied two-way player. Good corner outfield skills with good range and excellent carry on 86 mph throws from the outfield. Offensively, hits from crouch. Has shoulder level hand trigger. Gets barrel quick into zone with long finish. Gets lower half torque in swing. Ran a good 7.03 60-yard dash. On the mound, he attacks with moderate arm speed through 3/4 arm slot. Shows good front side attack but is tad long on backside arm extension. Needs to keep delivery compact to maintain control. Gets backside hip pop in follow through. Fastball sits 83-86 mph with some late life. Throws good two-plane tilt curveball with some depth at 72-73 mph. Also has effective split change  (76 mph).

Neil Jones, OF, St. Xavier HS, Class of 2013

5-foot-11, 180-pound outfield prospect. Ran 7.28 60-yard dash with 72 mph arm strength. Good hitting stance. Loads hands from shoulder. Will occasionally flatten hands in trigger that will promote flat plane hitting path. Will improve swing by incorporating more torque from lower half.

Riley Carlton, C, St. Clairsville HS, Class of 2013

5-foot-10, 185-pound strong bodied receiver with good catching skills. Boxes and frames very well and shows lateral blocking ability. Quick, compact release from the crouch with top velocity of 73 mph. Showed pop times of 2.02-2.06. Good hitting approach. Uses squared stance with good shoulder level hand load trigger. Squares barrel on ball well with backside torque finish and power potential.

Sean Pfeifer, OF/RHP, Springboro HS, Class of 2013

6-foot-2, 200-pound athletic player with some raw skills. Ran 6.83 60-yard dash. Corner outfield type. Shows some carry on throws with a top velocity of 86 mph from the outfield. Has upright stance as a hitter. Uses shoulder trigger and good lower half torque. Good power potential. Could improve swing by improving pre-swing movement and simplifying load. On the mound, he shows good delivery with upper 3/4 arm slot. Needs to get more lower torque in follow through. Fastball fairly straight at 80-81 mph. Has some downward spin plane on curve (68-69 mph). Also shows some sink on change (70-71 mph).

Spencer Iacovone, 1B/OF, Moeller HS, Class of 2013

6-foot-1, 205-pound athlete with strong, athletic frame. Uses upright stance with some bend in knees. Has good shoulder level hand load trigger. Gets barrel into zone with very good homerun power potential. Gets lower half torque. Registered a 6.94 60-yard dash. Exceptional athlete. Registered exit velocity of 99 mph off the tee. Did not work out defensively as he is coming back from surgery on his elbow, but shows the athleticism to play several positions on the field. Likely suited for first base or DH at the next level. (Also being recruited as a Division I quarterback for football. Has run an impressive 4.57 60-yard dash for his size).

Steve Duby, RHP, Maumee HS, Class of 2013

6-foot, 180-pound right-handed pitching prospect. Previously committed to West Virginia. Aggressive mound presence. Good balance in delivery with arm extension on both front and backside. Quick arm speed through upper 3/4 slot. Gets very good lower half, hip pop in follow through. Needs to control aggressive front side, which effects the repeatability of his delivery. Fastball ranges from 86-89 mph with some cut action. Showed two types of breaking balls; a quick biting slider that he locates on both corners at 77-79 mph. Also uses slower curve with downward tilt bite as a change of pace at 75-76 mph.

Tavin Howard, OF, Briggs HS, Class of 2014

6-foot, 170-pound outfielder. Exciting young talent. Still raw but has high ceiling. Has physical projection in body. Ran 6.75 60-yard dash. Likely a corner outfielder at the next level. Offensively, he uses a squared stance. Has excellent hand trigger and path to the ball. Squares barrel on ball with very good power that should only increase with time. Gets lower half torque. Still young, but if hitting approach matures and he develops physically, he will be one of the top outfielders in Ohio’s class of 2014.

T.J. Nichting, IF, Hamilton Badin HS, Class of 2013

5-foot-11, 175-pound infielder. Shows good middle infield skills with some range, fluid footwork and good hands. Uses a quick transfer and exchange. Likely a second baseman at the next level. Runs 7.22 60 yard dash with good arm strength from all angles. The switch hitter hits from an open stance (both sides). Has low hand trigger but shows batspeed and squares barrel on ball well. Uses field very well with line drive contact.

Tom Coon, 1B/RHP, Dublin Jerome HS, Class of 2013

6-foot, 205-pound prospect with strong, solid frame. His bat is his key for the next level. Has upright power stance. Triggers hand load from shoulder. Attacks hitting zone well squaring barrel on ball. Good power potential. Has good hip torque finish. Defensively, he projects as a first baseman while showing good movement around the bag. On the mound, he has good front side in delivery but is tad long on back arm extension. Has 3/4 to low 3/4 arm slot. Needs to enhance lower half hip pop in follow through to promote more velocity. Fastball is straight at 79-82 mph with downward spin on curve at 67-68 mph.

Tom Stoffel, LHP/OF, Northmont HS, Class of 2013

5-foot-10, 185-pound two-way prospect. Virginia Tech verbal commitment. Ran 7.28 60 yard dash. Excellent hitter with good shoulder hand trigger. Gets barrel into zone well with backside finish. Uses field very well and occasionally pulls ball. Corner outfield type. As a pitcher, he has aggressive mound presence. Attacks hitters. Gets good arm extensions from both front and backside. Uses moderate arm speed through 3/4 arm slot. Aggressive with fastball, which shows occasional cut and some arm side run, ranging 84-86 mph (We have seen him up to 88 mph). Two types of breaking balls. A cut/slider with good bite at 76-77 mph and a two plane downward tilt with some depth 71-72.

Tony Evans, IF, Tecumseh HS, Class of 2013

6-foot-2, 165-pound infield prospect with plenty of physical projection. Shows good athleticism and baseball sense. Has excellent middle infield skills with very soft hands and good feet. Has upright hitting stance with shoulder level hand trigger. Bat is quick into the zone with good lower body torque in finish. With added physical strength, he will develop above average power. 

Tyler Pagano, RHP/OF, Pickerington North HS, Class of 2013

6-foot-2, 195-pound two-way prospect. Shows good delivery and balance but has shortness in backside arm extension. Finishes well with some good follow through. Fastball has heavy action, ranging 82-83 mph and topping at 85 mph. Also shows good downward spin on 67-68 mph curveball.
