Peyton Wilson RHP / 3B / New London, OH / 2020

NEW LONDON - This was supposed to be a memorable year for Peyton Wilson.

Unfortunately, it has become indelible for all the wrong reasons.

“I was really excited about senior year and playing with all my friends,” explained the recent New London graduate, who regrettably missed out on his final high school campaign due to COVID-19. “That one hurt. But Bowling Green hurt, too.”

If not having a senior season wasn’t bad enough, Wilson no longer has a college home to play his favorite sport after BG announced the elimination of the baseball program in May.

“My entire future was planned out,” Wilson said. “And then this came so late. It’s going to be hard to find the perfect fit.”

The fourth-ranked uncommitted 2020 in Ohio is now searching for a college, with the calendar already turned to June.

“I’m looking for a good school with a good program where I can have a strong relationship with the coaches,” Wilson pointed out. “Wherever I go, I think I can step in and compete right away. I can be a leader and help the program grow as a teammate and as a player. I’ll give everything you want as a player.”

The 6-1 205-pound right-handed pitcher has worked hard to improve his game during the pandemic.
