Logan Minamyer RHP / 1B / Hilliard Bradley, OH / 2026

HILLIARD - It was a memorable Aug. 1 for Logan Minamyer.

“I was very grateful to wake up and see colleges had reached out,” the Hilliard Bradley High School junior said about the first day that coaches could initiate contact with players in the 2026 class. “It was very exciting that six to eight schools reached out and I was thrilled to see all the messages. I feel very blessed and grateful for the opportunity. College baseball has always been a dream for me.”

There have been “a couple visits so far, more about just talking to the coach” according to Minamyer.

“I’ve not always been the most high-minded of myself, so I’m grateful to have coaches reach out and show interest,” the 14th-ranked 2026 right-handed pitcher in Ohio noted.

There was help in getting his name out there leading up to the first day of August.

“Prep Baseball is a huge network,” Minamyer explained. “Those that reached out mentioned seeing me at the Future Games. I also went to the Top Prospect Games, but it was mainly the Future Games that helped me. My travel organization through the Dome was also very supportive.”

Kyle Weldon, Prep Baseball Ohio Director of Scouting, sees a bright future for the 17-year-old.

“A big-bodied kid at 6-3 with long arms, Logan has high temp delivery with some deceptive arm action,” Weldon said. “He sat mostly 86-87 at the Future Games, but I expect him to make a jump as he gets more physical.”

That is something the 6-3 200-pounder has been working on.

“This offseason I’ve been putting on weight and putting on muscle to get my strength up,” related the 14th-ranked uncommitted junior in the state. “I’ve been doing a throwing program to get my velocity to the next level and I’ve gotten stronger and more agile. It’s about how to use my body the best way possible.”

Minamyer is open to a number of possibilities when it comes to what he is looking for in a university for his future.

“With my family, education is the big thing,” explained the 3.7 student considering a major in an area of economics, business or statistics. “That’s one of the top interests for me when it comes to a college.

“Every school is different,” Minamyer continued. “I would like to be with a coach I trust who puts his trust in me to play for the team. I’d like to be part of a team that plays for each other.”

Being a team player is just part of what the 32nd-ranked junior in Ohio believes he can bring to a program.

“I like to think that I’m a competitor,” Minamyer pointed out. “I always give everything I’ve got. For me, it’s about playing for the guys around me and being a team in what we’re doing.”

Admittedly, the recruiting process is not what he expected.

“It’s different from what it used to be,” Minamyer explained. “I’m not sure anyone in the ’26 class realized this. College baseball is different than it was before. But I’m very blessed to have it in my life.”

The seventh-rated uncommitted 2026 in the state is excited about what lies ahead in his recruitment.

“The next couple of months will be high school ball, playing with guys I’ve been with and hopefully doing well,” Minamyer said. “In the summer I’d like to improve my skill set to give college coaches something to think about. Just by improving myself I’m hoping that will catch the interest of somebody.

“Hopefully, more strength and increased velocity to be the best I can be on the mound will give me more opportunities.”

As for a timeframe on a decision, “that’s the hard part” according to Minamyer.

“Right now I don’t see committing any time soon,” Minamyer concluded. “I’d like to get through the school season and the summer season and see where it takes me. I’d like to play for as long as possible and if I get that opportunity I’d be eternally grateful. If not, I know I’ve worked hard to have that opportunity.”
