Updated Class of 2026 Player Rankings (March)

Throughout the winter we were all over the state, scouting numerous prospects and seeing many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene. With that information, we are updating each of our class rankings based off what we have seen. We start with the Class of 2025.

As winter sports come to an end and our season is about to kick off, we will take a look at "What's New at the Top", "Notable Newcomers”, "Winter Showcase Standouts", "Prospects To Look At This Spring", and a look some of the top uncommitted prospects by position.

What's New In The Top 10

Shawn Sullivan RHP / OF / Walsh Jesuit, OH / 2026

Report: At No. 2, the top 2026 arm in Ohio will have a new division to compete in as Walsh Jesuit moves to Division 2. Shawn Sullivan impressed on the summer circuit with an explosive fastball into the upper 9s, generating a lot of swing and miss in the zone. Will be a popular name this summer heading into his draft year.

Deacon Nelson SS / OF / University School, OH / 2026

Report: At No. 6 is Virginia commit Deacon Nelson. Deacon showed off some added physicality at Procase back in February. During that workout Deacon ran a 6.56 laser timed 60, clocked in at 92 across the infield and was up to 101 with wood. Poised for a big junior year at University School. 

Notable Newcomers

Jaemeson French OF / RHP / Cincinnati Country Day School, OH / 2026

Report: Joining the rankings at No. 71 is Cincinnati Country Day outfielder Jaemeson French. Jaemeson impressed at Southern Ohio Preseason All-State, turning in a 6.64 laser timed 60 and up to 88 from the outfield. A smooth, controlled swing from the right handed box with easy pop to the gaps, he topped at 99.2 in BP. 

Jake Donaldson RHP / SS / North Canton Hoover, OH / 2026

Report: Entering at No. 92 is North Canton Hoover’s two-way junior Jake Donaldson. Jake projects best on the mound where he sat in the mid to upper 8s, topping at 88 in his pen at Central Ohio Preseason All-State. Spins the SL at 2600+ rpm. Mixes in a low vert CH that can run up to 16 inches. 

Luke Spittler 3B / SS / Canton Central Catholic, OH / 2026

Report: At No. 149 is newcomer Luke Spittler, a 3B from Canton Central Catholic who showed off the power at Northern Ohio Preseason All-State. It’s a simple operation in the box that generates above average power with good carry. Will be an interesting middle of the lineup profile to follow this spring.

Winter Showcase Standouts

Nathan Bryant RHP / 3B / Lake Center Christian, OH / 2026

Report: No. 12, Procase FB velocity record holder, Nathan Bryant showed off his added strength at Procase, topping out at 96 and holding steady at 94-95. The recent Ohio State commit also mixed in a low 80’s slider for strikes. Bryant will be looking to crack the state’s top ten with a dominant junior year this spring at Lake Center Christian. 

Wilson Wells RHP / OF / Granville, OH / 2026

Report: The biggest riser in the class coming in at No. 31 is Granville’s two-way Wilson Wells. One of the more explosive movers in the class on the mound who lit up the gun during Central Ohio Preseason All-State clocking in at a top of 94. 

Mac Reed SS / OF / Turpin, OH / 2026

Report: Another riser from the winter circuit and coming in at No. 56 is Turpin shortstop Mac Reed. The left handed hitting shortstop is coming off a big 2024 campaign and showcased his power at the plate during Southern Ohio Preseason All-State, topping at 100.4 while running a 6.67 and clocking in at 86 across the infield.

Jonathan Latz RHP / SS / Kenston, OH / 2026

Report: One more riser from the winter who we saw throw several times, each time better than the last, was Kenston RHP Jonathan Latz. Latz is a strike thrower with a high feel for spin and a fastball capable of running into the low 9s. 

Prospects To Look At This Spring

Caleb Mecurio RHP / OF / Walsh Jesuit, OH / 2026

Report: Rising to No. 34 is Caleb Mecurio, a prospect coaches will want to circle back to quickly this spring before he’s off the board. Caleb had a big offseason, adding some strength and size while maintaining his quick, loose delivery. High pitchability righty who is now sitting 89-91 T93. 

Kenyon Oakes LHP / OF / Massillon Jackson, OH / 2026

Report: No. 33 Kenyon Oakes, the potential two-way out of Jackson will be a name to go see for coaches this spring. Kenyon is an explosive athlete that has continued to impress on the mound. The LHP sat in the upper 8s at Northern Ohio Preseason All-State and topped at 90.3.

Brayden Schmittou SS / OF / Batavia, OH / 2026

Report: No. 41, the left-handed hitting shortstop from Batavia, Brayden Schmittou showed off his progress this winter with a 6.66 in the 60, 90 across the infield, and elite bat to ball skills at the plate. Look for him to be on some radars this spring as a player to get out and see. 

Camden Fuehrer C / OF / St. Edward, OH / 2026

Report: Another player coaches will want to get eyes on ASAP is the St. Edwards backstop, Camden Fuehrer. Camden had a huge showing at T3 this winter, putting up some big numbers at the plate with a max exit velocity of 103.8. Behind the plate he was in the 1.9s with a C velo up to 82.
