Updated Class of 2027 Player Rankings (March)

Throughout the winter we were all over the state, scouting numerous prospects and seeing many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene. With that information, we are updating each of our class rankings based off what we have seen.

As winter sports come to an end and our season is about to kick off, we will take a look at "What's New at the Top", "Notable Newcomers”, "Winter Showcase Standouts", "Prospects To Look At This Spring", and a look some of the top uncommitted prospects by position.

What's New In The Top 10

Devlan Daniel OF / RHP / Indian Hill, OH / 2027

Report: Staying at No. 1 and 2 respectively are Devlan Daniel and Noah Goettke. Both had strong winters and showed well at Procase. Devlan has added some mass and looks to add on to his already impressive spring resume.

Noah Goettke OF / RHP / Archbishop Moeller, OH / 2027

Report: Staying at No. 1 and 2 respectively are Devlan Daniel and Noah Goettke. Both had strong winters and showed well at Procase. Goettke will look to crack a talented Moeller lineup and make his mark on the GCL. 

Nate Henderson LHP / OF / Bishop Watterson, OH / 2027

Report: Moving to No. 3 is the Bishop Watterson southpaw Nate Henderson. The 6-foot-2 lefty has continued to make strides physically and now is sitting in the upper 8s with multiple high level off-speed pitches. Look for a massive spring from the sophomore.

Nolan Klingbeil RHP / 1B / Medina Buckeye, OH / 2027

Report: New to the Top 10 is the 6-foot-8 RHP from Medina Buckeye, Nolan Klingbeil. Nolan, sat 88-90 at Procase with up to 21 inches of vert. The Super Sophomore Games alumni will look to improve upon a very strong 2024. 

Notable Newcomers

Daniel Thoma OF / RHP / Dayton Christian School, OH / 2027

Report: Entering the rankings at No. 33 is Dayton Christian sophomore outfielder and right-handed pitcher Daniel Thoma. Thoma projects well on the mound with a loose, live arm and good feel to pitch. He impressed evaluators at P413 Scout Day, topping out at 88.7.

Ben Oddis 3B / OF / Cardinal Mooney, OH / 2027

Report: New to the rankings and coming in at No. 65 is Ben Oddis from Cardinal Mooney. Another strong sophomore from Mooney who impressed at Northern Ohio Preseason All-State. The two-way corner infielder showcased his power in BP, topping at 98 with an advanced swing at the plate.

Johnny Slisz LHP / 1B / Aurora High School, OH / 2027

Report: Also joining the rankings is LHP Johnny Slisz from Aurora HS. The low ¾ slot lefty with a loose, whippy arm sits in the mid 8s with a top of 86.6. 3-pitch mix with good feel for the zone and a lot of upside as he continues to mature physically. 

Winter Showcase Standouts

Ryan Younglas 3B / RHP / Keystone, OH / 2027

Report: Keystone 3B Ryan Younglas had a standout performance at T3 scout day posting some strong numbers. The left-handed hitting infielder ran it up to 95 in BP and was 85 across the infield. Younglas moves into the top 50 in this update.

Anderson Alacchi C / Lake, OH / 2027

Report: Left-handed hitting catchers with power are highly sought after and Anderson Alacchi certainly fit the mold. The backstop had an impressive workout at Bo Jackson scout day, topping out at 102 in BP and popping a 1.91-1.97 down to second. Anderson moves to No. 14 in this update.

Pierce Manson RHP / Zane Trace High School, OH / 2027

Report: Another standout from the winter was Zane Trace RHP Pierce Manson. His bullpen showcased a fastball sitting 85-87 T88 with the ability to move it around the zone, up to 16 inches of vert. Changeup plays with good depth and fading action.

Prospects To Look At This Spring

Cael Charles RHP / C / Amherst Steele , OH / 2027

Report: Coming off a strong freshman season look out for No. 7 Cael Charles at Amherst Steele. Cael showed off some added velocity, sitting 89-90 this winter up to 92. The RHP is a tough at-bat for hitters with an explosive fastball paired up with an 80 mph curveball and 78 mph slider, both of which have late, sharp action. 

Cameron Conn SS / 2B / Wheelersburg, OH / 2027

Report: No. 17 Cameron Conn continues to climb in the rankings and is poised for a big sophomore season for Wheelersburg. The dynamic LHH shortstop showed well again this winter with surprising pop for the size and a strong arm that will stick on the left side of the infield.

Koby Dues SS / RHP / Vandalia Butler , OH / 2027

Report: No. 27 Koby Dues will look to build on a strong freshman year at Butler a season ago. Koby has added some physicality and tools are following suit. A sub 7 runner with 80+ infield velo and now up to mid 9s off the bat.
