Throughout the summer we were all over the state, scouting numerous prospects and seeing many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene. With that information, we are updating each of our class rankings based off what we have seen. Up now, the Class of 2027.
As school gets underway and the fall sports season kicks off, we will take a look at "What's New at the Top", "Notable Newcomers”, "Summer Showcase Standouts" and a look some of the top uncommitted prospects by position, as well as a close look at the Top 10.

What's New In The Top 10
Devlan Daniel OF / RHP / Indian Hill, OH / 2027Report: Devlan Daniel moves to #1. Devlan checks a lot of boxes on the baseball wishlist, he’s a switch-hitting outfielder with plus arm strength and can run (6.53 60-yard). Of all the 2027 prospects in the country who have attended a Prep Baseball event, there are exactly 4 who have recorded a positional velocity at 95+, Devlan is one of them. Beyond the tools, he has an advanced feel for the game which is evident when he’s on the bases or working an at-bat. |
Noah Goettke OF / RHP / Archbishop Moeller, OH / 2027Report: Noah Goettke remains in the Top 3 at #2. Noah had a great summer with the Indiana Bulls and showed well at the plate and on the bases during the Super Sophomore Games, including a backside homer on a right-on-right slider. There’s a ton to like about the type of offensive production that’s possible for Noah. Will be interesting to see how he impacts a loaded Moeller squad this spring. |
Noah Milburn LHP / OF / Lakota East, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 1
Report: Entering the Top 10 at #6 is Lakota East’s left-handed weapon Noah Milburn. As a freshman Noah surrendered just 6 earned runs over 29.1 innings while collecting 40 strikeouts. The arm strength has continued to build since the start of the 2024 calendar year, culminating in a peak velocity of 88 mph. |
Jackson Turnbull OF / LHP / Pickerington North, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 3
Report: Also moving into the Top 10 is left-handed hitting outfielder Jackson Turnbull. Having shown well a number of times in front of Prep staff this summer and proven he’s a left handed power bat that can compete against the best pitching in the state there’s little doubt that he’ll continue to make strides and move up recruiting boards as Aug 1 gets closer. |
Notable Newcomers
Liam Mcgeady RHP / 1B / St. Xavier, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 3
Report: Projectable RHP who topped out at 90 during Super Sophomore Games. Has made significant progress over the past 18 months and positioned himself as one of the highest ceiling arms in the class. |
Jackson Lewis RHP / 3B / Norton, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 5
Report: Impressive outing at Super Sophomore Games - established the fastball right way and mixed his offspeed offering well. Sat 86-88 T89 in August, expect him to continue to sharpen up the arsenal. Moves really well down the mound. |
Cameron Conn SS / 2B / Wheelersburg, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 5
Report: A twitchy left-handed hitting shortstop with above average defensive ability. Has matured at the plate and continues to add strength. Undeniable skill set offensively with an efficient swing that draws some comparison to 2026 Ohio prospect Enzo DiCocco. |
Summer Showcase Standouts
Grady Lantz RHP / 3B / Urbana, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 13 / POS: 6
Report: Another arm who impressed us at Super Sophomore Games. The arm talent is real here, very loose and quick. Has a good feel for a 4-pitch mix including two distinct breaking balls. The velocity is steadily climbing and we expect that to continue which sets him up for a monster 2025 season. |
Louie Santangelo 3B / RHP / Olentangy Liberty, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 23 / POS: 1
Report: Big left-handed power bat that profiles best at the corner infield positions. Has had success against some high level competition in the summer. Gap-to-gap, middle of the order type production. Showed really well at TPG Underclass and will be a good name to follow this year. |
Riley Verderber RHP / 3B / Lakewood, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 34 / POS: 9
Report: We saw Riley a number of times this year and loved the outing he put together a TPG Underclass. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound RHP has the body to suggest a lot more velocity is in the tank, for now he’s a 3-pitch guy who commands at a high level and competes well. |
Prospects To Look At This Fall
Reggie Watson III SS / OF / Archbishop Moeller, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 1
Report: Excited to see Reggie at State Games in October. A spark-plug, top of the order type hitter with pro-actions on the infield and surprising arm strength for his 5-foot-6, 135 pound frame. The most technically sound player in the state. He remains in the Top 15 of the class. |
Rocco Bucci OF / LHP / Olentangy, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 15 / POS: 4
Report: Rocco is a ballplayer through and through. Grinds his at-bats, plays the game fast, and has a very advanced feel for the game. Credit that to the high level of competition he faces on the summer circuit with Canes Midwest National. Looking forward to having him back out one last time this year for State Games. |
Kaden Reese OF / SS / Cardinal Mooney, OH / 2027Rankings StateRank: 32 / POS: 7
Report: Also attending State Games is Cardinal Mooney outfield prospect Kaden Reese. Kaden had a productive spring and continued his breakout campaign this summer. A speedy outfielder with top of the lineup traits. Moves well in space and can cause chaos on the base paths. |
