PBR OK strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

This fall and winter, PBR OK will be highlighting some of the top ranked and uncommitted players in the 2018 Class as they prepare to enter their senior seasons. Today, we look at a right-hander that can really sink the fastball and spin the slider, Chase Wetwiska.

Scouting Report

5-21-17
A proportional 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with strength. Wetwiska shows enough stuff on the mound and strength at the dish to be a possible two-way player at the next level. On the mound, works from an up-tempo delivery with a high leg kick and quick arm coming through a 3/4 slot. Fastball is commanded in the bottom of the zone and sits 82-83 with so much sink that it resembles a split-finger at times. Slider has tight spin with 10/4 shape and late depth, 75-76 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with tight spin, 73-74. All three pitches for strikes. Offensively, the right-handed hitter uses a wide stance, small stride, and smooth load as he shows a middle to pull approach with lift in BP, barrels almost every ball, 87 mph exit velo. In the outfield, shows clean actions, fields the ball deep. Throws from a high-3/4 slot with run, 84 mph. Runs a 7.32 60.

6/6/17
A 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with strength throughout. Works from a slightly up-tempo delivery, high leg kick, and a violent finish. Arm circle is moderate and quick, fast out front, high-3/4 slot. Gets on top and out front with the fastball, massive sink and run, 81-83 mph. Slider shows late depth with tight spin, 10/4 shape, 73-74 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape with depth, 71-72 mph. In the game, threw strikes with all three pitches, slider was the put away pitch, gave up only weak contact.
