- Middle of the order bat that is an RBI machine. Luke is a two year starter and that has great strike zone awareness. Luke is a leader in our clubhouse. He's a fierce competitor! Luke is a brick wall behind the plate with great pitch calling IQ and also a solid defensive 1st Baseman.
- SS/RHP Jose Rojas (2026) - 5'10, 155lbs., R/R
- Jose is an Elite defensive SS that can make all the plays. Jose has great range completed with a great baseball IQ. He has showed some pop at the plate this spring, from his commitment to the weight-room. Jose will also be one of the top end rotation guys for the Longhorns.
- INF/RHP Jett Rogers (2027) - 5'10, 165lbs., L/R
- Jett started half the season during his freshman campaign. Jett is the ultimate teammate. He brings a positive mindset and energy everyday to our clubhouse. Jett will be our leadoff hitter this spring. He is a very polished hitter for a Sophomore. He can flat out hit. He doesn't swing at bad pitches and has great strike zone awareness. Jett will also be one of the top end rotation guys for our pitching staff.
- INF/RHP Jack Mendoza (2026) - 6'3, 250lbs., R/R
- Jack is a middle of the order bat that was plagued by injury in 2024. Started out the 2024 season hitting over .400 before a hammock injury. Jack will hit in the middle of the order this spring with power to all fields. Not being able to hit last year because of the hand injury, Mendoza just pitched. Jack will be one of the top end rotation guys for the Longhorns staff.
- C Tripp Rogers (2027) - 5'10, 175 lbs. , R/R
- Tripp is an elite throwing catcher. He has a great arm behind the dish to control opposing teams running games. Tripp caught 8 games last season as a Freshman. With a year of experience and maturity under his belt, expect Rogers to be a have big role behind the plate. Offensively he has shown some pop to all fields. He will become a better hitter throughout the season with experience and consistency.
Top Newcomers:
- CF/RHP Drew Thomas (2027) - 6'0, 170, R/R
- Drew is a very athletic kid who can cover some ground. He has great ball skills being a defensive back on the football team. Drew will be a big defensive piece in CF along with some pop at the plate. He is a gap to gap hitter who can run! Drew will be one of the top end rotation guys for the pitching staff. He is a competitor on the bump and will give us a chance to win! Look for Thomas to make a name for himself this spring.
Key Players Lost:
- Jett Farmer (Seminole State JC)
- Mason Weiher
Coach’s Insight: “The strength of our ball club this season will be depth we have on the mound, team defense, and our athleticism on the base paths. We have a very young athletic team that will apply pressure to opposing teams with the running game. We have guys who like to play defense. Team defense should be a strength of our team! The depth of our pitching rotation will be a key factor to our season. We have a bunch of young arms that are strike throwers. Regardless who we run out on the bump, we will have a chance to compete with the depth of our pitching staff. We are a completely new team. We have a lot of guys without Varsity experience. We play a tough schedule so our young guys will have to figure out.” – Luke Yost, head coach
