Coach Hawk and the Yellowjackets have put together one of the top resumes in the state headed into the Postseason with one of the most potent offenses 1-9 to go along with some firepower on the mound making them a top contender in 2022.  On the mound they have one of the more projectable power arms in the State with Gabe Davis as well as being able to rely on Jarrett Flaggert, Drake Fittro, and a host of others for quality innings.  It is the offense however that strikes fears in opposing dugouts with one of the best mixes of power and athleticism throughout the lineup.  There isn't a spot in the lineup where opponents can take a breath and relax as they stretch it with quality hitters even at the bottom of the lineup.  Flaggert has put together one of the best seasons with the bat in the state in the middle of the lineup and is surrounded by guys that have shown the ability to get it done at the plate even against some of the better arms.  If Choctaw can continue to get big production out of the bats and the solid pitching they have shown throughout the year, they become of one of the toughest outs in the State and a true contenders for a state title.

EDMOND MEMORIAL BULLDOGS

DISTRICT RECORD: 10-4

POWER 25 WINS: 8

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Josh Errico, INF, 2023, Uncommitted

Garrett Baker, RHP, 2024, Uncommitted

Ethan Fritts, RHP/INF, 2023, Uncommitted

Coach Holman's Bulldogs enter the regionals as one of the streakiest teams in the State with the ability to rack up wins in bunches at times as well as some losses making them a very tricky team.  If you catch the Bulldogs when they are hot, they have shown the ability to take down some of the best teams in the State and are currently riding a 5-game winning streak headed into post season play.  They have had some tough luck on the mound this spring with injuries coming at tough times but are starting to get healthier at the right time.  They have one of the top left handed arms in the state in Parker Coil and when he is on he can be incredibly tough to beat.  Ethan Fritts has shown the ability to work through lineups multiple times and miss bats at a high rate.  The offense is paced by Owen Tracy in the middle of the lineup as well as Coil and OU signee Noah Kang and has shown the ability to put up big numbers offensively scoring in double digits at total of 11 times this season.  They are also one of the better defending teams in the State which should be a good recipe for success this week in regional play.

MOORE LIONS

OVERALL RECORD: 13-18

DISTRICT RECORD: 7-7

POWER 25 WINS: 6

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Colby Mann, RHP/INF, 2023, Uncommitted

JayShaun Sykes, MIF, 2024, Uncommitted

Brok James, RHP, 2022, Uncommitted

Reese Voegele, C, 2023, Uncommitted

Lucas Jones, INF, 2023, Uncommitted

Coach Stephens' Moore Lions come into regional play on a five-game winning streak including winning their last two games against Power 25 opponents.  There's more to the story than their 13-18 record with them going .500 in what turned out to be one of the more competitive districts in the state and almost half of their wins coming against Power 25 opponents.  They have also been very competitive in some of their losses this season against good competition showing their fight and ability to step up in big games.  Lately it has been the one two punch with Mann and James on the mound showing the ability to handle good offenses and they've only allowed 8 runs during their current five-game winning streak.  The offense is sparked by the lead off hitting catcher Reese Voegele followed up by the athletic spark plug JayShaun Sykes.  When those guys are getting on base it comes down to Lucas Jones and Mann to provide a bulk of the run production in the middle of the order.  If Moore can get quality starts on the mound this week, they can be quite scary for opponents with their ability to play up to their competition.

Putnam City West Patriots

OVERALL RECORD: 8-26

DISTRICT RECORD: 3-11

POWER 25 WINS: 0

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Jaxon Hyde-Herrera, C/RHP, 2024, Uncommitted

Rico Hamilton, INF, 2024, Uncommitted

Samuel Hernandez, OF, 2024, Uncommitted

Jaydon Saylor, 1B, 2022, Uncommitted

In what has been a bit of a challenge this Spring for coach Brandenberger's squad there is still optimism with the roster construction headed into the future.  PC West has one of the top players in the State in Jaxon Hyde-Herrera as only a sophomore who shows the type of tools on both sides of the ball to be a potential star in OK.  After him they have another duo of sophomores in Rico Hamilton and Samuel Hernandez hitting right in the heart of the order gaining valuable experience that should pay off in the future.  Don't sleep on the Patriots completely as if Hyde-Herrera gets the ball on the mound he has the type of arm strength and stuff that could take over a game.
