JUCO Player Spotlight - NEO: Sam Replogle

Starting the year out of the bullpen and now picking up some starts lately, Replogle is putting together an impressive campaign for the Golden Norseman.  The right hander has 26 innings pitched while only allowing 16 hits, picking up 42 strikeouts to only 19 walks, and a respectable 4.5 ERA.  The main reason for the eye-popping strikeout numbers lies in the spin rates.  His upper 80's fastball has a spin rate in the 2500's which allows it to play up a higher level.  The mid 70's curveball has an impressive 3100 spin rate to go along with the low 80's slider with a spin rate close to 3300. His ability to spin the ball and miss bats makes him a very intriguing prospect at the next level for a team looking for a shut down guy in the back end of the bullpen.
