OK Fall Prospect Games - Enid: Player Analysis

Our Fall Prospect Games in Enid is one of two gameplay events we hosted this fall to get a better grasp on the ever-developing talent in Oklahoma.

On Sept. 19, Nearly 30 players showcased their talents in a pro-style workout and a simulated game. Today, we give you the position player reports from the mid-September event. Then, we'll drop the two-way player reports in the coming days.

LISTED IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER

Lance Cummings 3B / 1B / OKC Broncos, OK / 2022

Solid 6-foot-3, 230-pound frame. The right-handed hitter starts in an open stance with a small leg lift and hand load. Has a slightly uphill swing plane through the zone, generating good bat speed and recording a 91 mph bat-exit velocity. Made consistent hard contact to the mid/pull side with flashes of pull-side power. Ran an 8.01 60-yard dash. The corner infielder has longer footwork and developing hands to field making 70 mph throws from a ¾ arm-slot. 


Josh Errico SS / OF / Edmond Memorial , OK / 2023

Athletic, developing 5-foot-9, 145-pound frame. The right-handed hitter starts in a rhythmic, athletic stance with a balanced base and high hand-set. Uses a leg lift load to transfer his weight back before attacking the ball at a slightly downhill to level angle through the zone. Generates some backspin during BP, barreling almost all balls with line-drives to the middle of the field. Registered a 78 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. The primary shortstop shows clean, confident actions in the field with soft hands, quick transfers and short footwork to field. Has a quick high-¾ arm action, making 77 mph throws with carry and accuracy. In the outfield, moves quick with an average glove while playing through his throws well. Made 80 mph throws with carry and some accuracy.


Jonnie Gifford C / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2024

Solid 6-foot, 203-pound build. The right-handed hitter starts in a balanced, square load with quiet hands. Uses a small leg lift and hand load back to shift his weight before generating a quick level swing through the zone. Made consistent hard contact with line-drives to his mid/pull side during BP. Registered an 87 mph bat-exit velocity, showing some strength and bat speed. Ran a 7.81 60-yard dash. Behind the plate, the primary catcher has developing footwork and exchanges on throws to second. Shows ability to block and average receiving skills. Throws from a short, high-¾ arm action recording 73 mph throws and pop times ranging from 2.13-2.22 sec.


Kade Goeke 2B / OF / Enid, OK / 2021

Lean, athletic 5-foot-10, 140-pound frame with room to add size and strength. Switch-hitting middle infielder. From the left-side, starts in a square stance with his weight shifted on his backside. Uses a quick leg-lift load, generating a level line-drive with consistent line-drive contact to the middle of the field. From the right-side, starts in a square stance with a quick leg-lift and hand load back. Slight arm bar in load which creates a longer swing through zone. Level bat path with line-drive and ground ball contact to mid/pull side. Registered a 75 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. In the infield, displays active/athletic footwork with a soft glove and clean exchanges. Made accurate 75 mph throws across the diamond from a quick ¾ arm action.


Mccage Hartling C / 3B / Enid , OK / 2024

Compact, developing 5-foot-8, 165-pound frame with room to add strength. The left-handed hitter starts in balanced, slightly crouched stance. Utilizes a knee-knock and hand load to start his swing, generating a quick flat bat path through the zone. Made consistent line-drive contact to his mid/pull side, registering an 82 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Behind the plate, the primary catcher showed the ability to receive and block with some flexibility. Shows quick footwork and fluid exchanges that should continue to improve with added strength and maturity. Recorded 68 mph throws and pop times between 2.12-2.32 sec, throwing from a short over-the-top arm slot.


Jaden Johannesen 3B / SS / Owasso, OK / 2022

Lean 5-foot-10, 154-pound frame with some quick-twitch athleticism. The right-handed hitter sets-up in a wide base and slightly crouched stance with active hands. Uses a quick toe-tap and hand load to generate an aggressive, level bat path through the zone. Creates solid bat speed, utilizing his lower half and collapsing his backside occasionally at his finish. Hard line-drive contact to the middle of the field, yielding a 79 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 6.94 60-yard dash. In the infield, shows good lateral range with quick footwork and average glove. Throws from a short, quick high-¾ arm slot with accuracy at 75 mph across the diamond.


Jason Joseph 2B / OF / Mount Saint Mary, OK / 2024

Displays a young, developing 5-foot-8, 135-pound frame with room to add size and strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter sets up in a balanced, slightly crouched stance with quiet actions. Uses a controlled full body load to initiate a quick, twitchy line-drive swing. Made consistent line-drive contact, barreling up balls in BP and recording a bat-exit velocity of 73 mph. Ran a 7.71 60-yard dash. In the outfield, aggressive footwork to field with a sure glove and long, over-the-top arm action yielding 66 mph throws with accuracy. In the infield, shows developing footwork and glove, making plays to each side. 65 mph throws across the diamond.


Colby Lewis C / SS / Heritage Hall, OK / 2021

Compact, athletic 5-foot-8, 170-pound frame. Right-handed hitter with a tall, open stance and an active bat. Starts his swing with a quick stride into a level swing plane and finish. Gets good extension with above average bat speed, registering an 87 mph bat-exit velocity. Found some barrels with hard line-drive contact and a gap to gap approach. Above average runner with a 6.86 60-yard dash. In the outfield, shows confident, methodical footwork and a solid glove to field. Made strong throws with accuracy and carry from a short high-¾ arm slot at 86 mph. In the infield, sure hands with average exchanges, consistently working around the ball getting his momentum behind his 79 mph throws.


Ethan McDonald SS / 2B / Mannford, OK / 2024

Young, developing 5-foot-7, 115-pound frame with room to add size and strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter starts in a balanced stance with his bat resting on his shoulder and knob of the bat facing the pitcher. Uses a toe-tap load to bring back his hands and body weight creating a level line-drive swing through the zone. Made consistent base-hit contact to the middle part of the field. Recorded a 63 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 8.92 60-yard dash. The primary middle infielder showcases a good glove and developing footwork with quick exchanges. Made accurate 57 mph throws across in the infield. Should continue to see improvements in his numbers as he matures.


Sutton Moore 2B / SS / Washington , OK / 2023

Lean 5-foot-11, 155-pound frame with room to add size and strength. In the box, the right-handed hitter sets up in an open, relaxed stance. Uses a small leg lift load and short stride to create a level swing through the zone, making line-drive and fly-ball contact to all fields in his round of BP. Recorded a bat-exit velocity of 79 mph. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. The primary middle infielder shows average hands and footwork to field with quick exchanges, throwing from a long high-¾ arm action at 71 mph with some accuracy.


Augusto Schroeder SS / 2B / Bishop McGuinness , OK / 2022

Lean 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame with present athleticism. The right-handed hitter sets up in a balanced stance with a high handset and some rhythm. Uses a leg kick to load hands down into a slightly uphill swing plane. Swing has a slight hitch, producing line-drives to all fields with feel for the barrel and decent extension. Above average bat speed, recording an 88 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. In the infield, shows athletic actions with solid footwork around the ball and lateral range. Developing, confident hands with quick transfers and short ¾ arm slot making 78 mph throws with accuracy across the diamond.


Conner Thompson C / 1B / Sharon-Mutual, OK / 2021

Physical 6-foot, 185-pound frame. The right-handed hitter sets up in an open, balanced stance with some rhythm in his hands. Has a slow, controlled body load and short stride into a flat bat path through the zone. Found some barrels during BP, with mainly line-drives and hard ground balls to his mid/pull side. Recorded an 86 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Behind the plate, the primary catcher sits in a high, narrow stance with pre-pitch body sway. Shows average receiving and blocking ability. Has good footwork and transfers on throw downs with a longer release. Throws from a short, over-the-top slot at 70 mph with accuracy and yielding pop times of 2.25-2.37 seconds.
