OK Junior Future Games Trials: Second Basemen Analysis

The second annual OK Junior Future Games Trials was held at the  state of the art 20,000 square ft, Wold Baseball Outreach indoor facility.  This one day event featured many of the top prospects in the 2023 and 2024 classes from around the state showcasing their skills in front of PBR staff. 

This talented event saw impressive numbers in every category, including 6 sub 7.1 60s, ten 81+ exit velos, five arms that were 79+ across the infield, six arms that were 80+ from the outfield, two sub two second pop times, and five pitchers that were 80+.

Today, we take an in-depth look at the second basemen who upgraded to full profiles from the event. 

Jack Cullen 2B / 3B / Oklahoma Christian School, OK / 2023

A 5-foot-7, 145-pound frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a balanced stance with quiet hands. Uses an easy load with a toe tap while the hands separate and then deliver a short swing with a slightly uphill bat path. In BP, shows and all fields and flat approach with occasional lift, some barrels, 73 mph exit velo.  Runs a 8.13 60. Defensively, the 2B shows athletic actions with average hands and developing feet. Throws with a short arm stroke coming through a low three quarter slot with developing accuracy at 70 mph.


Jett Roselius 2B / OF / Heritage Hall, OK / 2023

A 5-foot-7, 120-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a slightly open stance with balanced weight. Uses a deep weight shift while hands sit in the hitting slot before the hands deliver a short swing with an even bat path through the zone. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach, some oppo flair, some barrels late, 74 mph exit velo.  Runs a 7.33 60. Defensively,  the 2B shows actions with developing hands and feet. Throws with a moderately long arm stroke coming through a low three quarter slot with developing accuracy at 68 mph.


Chevy Todd 2B / 3B / Moore, OK / 2023

A 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open stance with balanced weight. Uses a small load while his hands push down into hitting slot before launching the bat on a short and slightly uphill path. In BP, shows an all-fields and mostly flat approach, some barrels, 74 mph exit velo.  Runs a 7.70 60. Defensively,  shows athletic actions actions with average hands and feet. Throws with a short arm stroke coming through a high three quarter slot with average accuracy at 75 mph.


Stephen Valois 2B / RHP / Edmond North, OK / 2023

A 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an open stance with rhythm in his hands. Uses a toe tap while the hands push back into a slight arm bar before launching the bat on a slight uphill angle with good extension. In BP, shows a pull approach with lift and some barrel strength, 81 mph exit velo.  Runs a 7.40 60. Defensively, the 2B shows developing actions with developing hands and feet. Throws with a long arm stroke coming through a low three quarter slot with developing accuracy at 73 mph.
