The third annual Preseason All-State Showcase was held at The Grind sports facility in Oklahoma City, OK on Sunday, February 3rd.  This one day event featured a completely sold out event of 100 prospects in the 2019-2022 classes from around the state showcasing their skills in front of PBR staff. 

This talented event saw impressive numbers in every category, including 16 sub seven second 60s, eight 90+ exit velos, 10 arms that were 85+ across the infield (top 92), nine arms that were 85+ from the outfield (top 91), four sub two second pop times, and 10 pitchers that were 85+ (top 93)

Jakob Brandenberger RHP / SS / Putnam City West, OK / 2020

A 6-foot, 205-pound frame with some strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm that he repeats well. Uses a high leg kick before striding down the mound with quality leg drive and finishing towards the first base side. Arm action is quick in the back with moderate length before coming through a high-¾ slot with arm strength. Fastball sits 81-83 mph with consistent heavy sink in the bottom of the zone, almost all strikes. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with tight spin and late depth at 69-70 mph, mostly strikes. Changeup is advanced with late fade and sink, thrown with full arm speed at 75-77 mph, almost all strikes. 


Garrett Casey 3B / RHP / Owasso, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-11, 185-pound durable frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slightly up tempo delivery with a high leg kick and slight coil at the top before striding to the dish and finishing balanced. Arm action is very short in the back before coming through a ¾ slot. Fastball sits 82-83 mph with occasional cut to the glove side and run to the arm side, mostly strikes. Changeup is advanced with consistent sink at the bottom of the zone, thrown with full arm speed at 73-74 mph. Slider shows gradual 10/4 shape with some depth at 64-67 mph, some strikes. 


Tyler Cooper RHP / Westmoore, OK / 2020

A 6-foot-4, 185-pound long and projectable frame with lots of room to add strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an up tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before sinking into his back side and driving towards the dish with a long stride, finishing to the first base side. Arm action has moderate length in the back, making a clean circle before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 80-83 mph with some downhill tilt, mostly strikes. Curveball shows near 12/6 shape with some late depth, thrown mostly as a chase pitch at 65-66 mph. Changeup has some fade thrown with full arm speed at 72-74 mph, some strikes.


Christian Duncan RHP / OF / Poteau, OK / 2020

A 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame with some strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slightly up tempo delivery with a high leg kick before striding down the mound with quality leg drive and finishing slightly to the first base side. Arm action is very long in the back getting high early before coming through a ¾ slot with some arm speed. Fastball sits 81-82 mph with occasional arm side run, mostly strikes. Curveball shows gradual depth with 11/5 shape at 60-64 mph, some strikes. Changeup is thrown with below fastball arm speed and shows fade at 66-67 mph. 


Trace Evans SS / 3B / Edmond Memorial, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame with athleticism and some strength throughout. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a high up-down-and-out leg kick and a long stride down the mound before finishing balanced. Arm action has moderate length behind him with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through a high-¾ slot with some arm speed. Fastball keeps its plane at 80-82 mph, mostly strikes. Changeup has some fade at 72-73 mph, some strikes. Curveball is thrown for strikes and as a chase pitch with 12/6 shape and late depth at 62-64 mph. 


Grant Ewy C / RHP / Moore, OK / 2020

A 6-foot, 160-pound proportional frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from a simple up tempo delivery with a moderate leg lift before striding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is long and clean in the back, getting high before coming through a high-¾ slot with some arm speed. Fastball keeps its plane at 80-82 mph, almost all strikes. Curveball shows gradual depth and 11/5 shape at 65-66 mph, mostly strikes. Changeup shows consistent fade, often off to the arm side at 71-74 mph. 


Aiden Frizzell 1B / RHP / Deer Creek, OK / 2020

A 6-foot, 190-pound durable frame with some strength. On the mound, the right-hander works only from the stretch with a moderate leg kick and quality leg drive down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is long, loose, fluid, and fast in the back before coming through an almost submarine slot. Fastball sits 71-74 mph showing consistent and heavy sink in the bottom of the zone with deception, nearly all strikes. Changeup has consistent fade and sink at 65-66 mph, mostly strikes. Slider shows 10/4 shape with some late depth at 65-66 mph, nearly all strikes.


Aaron Hosack RHP / Ponca City , OK / 2020

A physically impressive 6-foot-5, 211-pound frame with long limbs and lots of room to add strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a high leg kick and a long stride down the mound, finishing to the first base side. Arm action is long and loose in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through a high-¾ slot with arm speed. Fastball sits 84-87 mph with downhill tilt, mostly strikes. Slider shows heavy cutter action at 73-74 mph. Curveball shows short 11/5 shape with late depth 67-68  mph. Changeup keeps its plane at 77-78 mph, some strikes.


Jack Jones RHP / C / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with plenty of room to add strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick and coil at the top before finishing slightly to the first base side. Arm action is clean and fluid in the back with moderate length before coming through a nearly over the top slot with some arm speed. Fastball keeps its plane at 81-83, touching 85 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows 12/6 shape with consistent late depth at 67-68 mph, thrown for strikes and as a chase pitch. Changeup shows some fade at 72-73 mph, some strikes. Slider has 10/4 shape with tight spin and late depth at 70-71 mph. 


Landry Kyle SS / RHP / Heritage Hall, OK / 2020

A 6-foot-3, 175-pound lean and athletic frame with lots of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works only from the stretch with a high and athletic leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is clean and fluid in the back with moderate length before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 79-82, touching 83 mph, mostly strikes. Changeup shows some fade at 73-76 mph, developing command. Slider shows some late depth with 10/4 shape at 73-75 mph, some strikes. 


Manning McAtee RHP / C / Clinton, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame packed with strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slightly up tempo delivery with rhythm and a high leg kick coiling at the top before striding to the dish with quality leg drive, finishing with a big recoil. Arm action shows fluid and controlled moderate length in the back before a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke coming through a high-¾ slot with elite arm speed. Fastball keeps its plane as it jumps to the plate at 87-89 mph, some strikes. Curveball shows 11/5 shape with consistent and gradual depth at 70-71 mph.


Dylon Mallett SS / RHP / Moore, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame with room to add strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before gliding to the dish and finishing balanced. Arm action is clean and quick in the back with moderate length before coming through a near over the top slot with some arm speed. Fastball shows slight arm-side run at 81-83 mph, nearly all strikes. Curveball shows 12/6 shape with some late depth at 75-76 mph, some strikes. Changeup shows some fade at 73-74 mph, some strikes. 


Josh McNeil RHP / 3B / Minco, OK / 2020

A 6-foot, 180-pound frame with room to add strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled tempo and old school delivery bringing his hands over his head before a high leg kick and gliding to the dish, finishing balanced. Arm action has length in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of his arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 70-71 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows near 12/6 shape with gradual depth at 64-66 mph. Changeup has consistent fade and sink at 68-69 mph, mostly strikes.


Caden Storts RHP / SS / Piedmont, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-10, 140-pound frame with room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slow and controlled delivery with a short leg kick before driving down the mound and finishing to the first base side. Arm action is long and fluid in the back before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 78-79 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball has near 12/6 shape with some late depth at 69-70 mph, mostly strikes. Slider has short and occasional cutter action at 72-73 mph, mostly strikes.


Taigen White SS / RHP / Sulphur, OK / 2020

A 6-foot-1, 155-pound frame with lots of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from a deliberate and controlled  tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before striding down the mound and finishing towards the dish. Arm action is very loose and quick in the back with length before coming through a near over the top slot. Fastball shows late life and occasional arm-side run at 80-83 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball has 11/5 shape with some late depth at 67-69 mph, mostly strikes. Changeup is thrown with full arm speed and shows excellent fade at 71-73 mph, some strikes.
