The Top 3

At the top of the OK rankings sit two infielders with a left handed arm in between.  Each prospect has shown the ability to compete at a high level against some of the best competition with room for even more projection.

Garrett Shull SS / RHP / Enid , OK / 2024

Shull jumps up to the number one spot in the rankings for the 2024 class coming off of his big Spring on the 6A stage.  When we saw him this Summer, Shull showed that the athleticism is starting to make jumps catching up to his high level baseball skills.  The switch hitter shows an advanced approach from both sides of the plate with the power starting to come through to match his high hit tool.  Defensively, Shull is showing the ability to stay on the left side of the infield with good actions and arm strength that is continuing to get better.  Shull is one of the more complete players in the Country that has already shown the ability to compete against higher level competition.

Kash Mayfield LHP / OF / Elk City, OK / 2024

Mayfield shows a clean, and effortless delivery with a fluid arm action that has produced fastballs up to 88 mph this summer. Mayfield has also flashed an advanced breaking ball at times. With his easy delivery and 6-foot-3 frame he is one of the most projectable arms in the country.

Owen Coil 2B / 3B / Stillwater, OK / 2024

Coil sees his jump in the rankings due to his big Summer that was capped by his play at the Future Games.  Coil has shown the tools the play up at the next level with solid measurables on both sides of the ball.  Where Coil really shines is his high baseball IQ and positional versatility.  Coil shows the he can handle the bat against some of the top arms in the Country and hit the ball with power even from his smaller frame.  The left handed hitter showed good gap power over the Summer and would look for that tool to continue to make strides as he gets stronger.  Coil is also known as one of the better base runners in the area as well as being able to play at a high level in both the infield and the outfield.

The Risers
As with every season that goes by, many players take major leaps physically and developmentally. Below are some of the biggest risers since our latest rankings.

Jaxon Hyde-Hererra RHP / C / Putnam City West, OK / 2024

Hyde-Hererra is one of the more interesting two-way potential players in the class where he has shown some positional versatility as well as showing promise on the mound.  Hyde-Hererra has good bat speed to go along with some strength at contact from the right side and will jump on the mound and work the fastball into the upper 80's with a clean arm action with plenty more in the tank for the future.

Carson Wiggins RHP / OF / Roland, OK / 2024

Wiggins appears to be on a similar path as his older brother who topped out at 100 for the Razorbacks last Spring. Carson shows a  6-foot-3 right-hander who already shows elite arm speed with plenty more velo to come. As he learns to harness that arm speed, look for him to continue to shoot up the rankings.

Hutch Russell SS / RHP / Carl Albert, OK / 2024

One of the top performers in post season baseball last spring Hutch Russell continues to show off his ability to barrel baseballs with some juice form the left side. Russell ability to rotate with power and stay on plane should allow him to continue to be a prolific hitter for the foreseeable future.

The Newcomers
In the offseason, we found a couple of difference makers who earned their way into our rankings. Below we highlight three prospects new to the top 30 spots of our rankings.

Kash Ferris RHP / OF / Choctaw , OK / 2024

Ferris is a physical 6-foot-2, 170-pound advanced athlete who knows how to use his levers. A solid two-way prospect Ferris shines the brightest on the mound. The right-hander features a fastball up to 83 mph with elite spin over 2400. Ferris also spins an elite curveball and slider, both with near 2500 spin, nearly unheard of at his age. Not only does Ferris show high level stuff, he consistently attacks the zone with it.

Conner Johnson RHP / OF / Salina , OK / 2024

Johnson showed well this Spring for Salina and again this summer at the OK Underclass Games.  Johnson works the fastball in the 82-84 range with an athletic delivery and good hand speed.  He has really good feel for spinning the curveball with the ability to land it in the zone and create good shape and downward action.

Jack Blevins 2B / RHP / Sapulpa, OK / 2024

Blevins was a key member for Sapulpa's varsity team this Spring both hitting in the middle of the lineup and working on the mound.  Blevins showed real power potential from the left side as well as solid defensive skills both in the infield and behind the plate.  Blevins will also hop on the mound with a feel for three pitches and is known for being one of the tougher competitors in the state.
