Andy Urban
Oklahoma Scouting Director

In a desire to best cover high school baseball in the state, PBR Oklahoma will be on the road this winter stopping by scrimmages and gathering information from teams around the state, highlighting top performers and difference makers for each school. Today, PBR Oklahoma will take an in-deep look at the 2018 Tupelo Tigers.

 Tigers
Class:
 B
Head Coach: Clay Weller
Years as head coach at school: 17
2017 Overall Record:
 17-13 (Fall)
2017 Post Season Finish:
 First Round of State

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Conor McCollum, 1B, 2018
Avery Gould, C, 2018
James Beach, RHP, 2020

SEASON OUTLOOK

The 2017 Tupelo Tigers did what most Tigers teams seem to do, which is complete late in post season play, making the state tournament, through they did not have their most successful regular season. The 2018 team will look to continue that tradition. Offensively, Tupelo will lean on a pair of power bats in Avery Gould and Connor McCollum in the middle of the order to produce runs. On the mound, Gould will again be a major factor joined by sophomore right-hander James Beach

High School coaches can request a 2018 team survey by emailing PBR Oklahoma State Director, Andy Urban, at [email protected].
