PBR OK hosted the third annual Summer Underclass Prospect Games at Oklahoma State University. Nearly 80 players showcased their skill in front of the PBR OK staff and the entire staff from Oklahoma State.

Today, we take a look at the 17 outfielders from the event.

 

Spencer Boles OF / 2B / Choctaw, OK / 2022

Showcased an advanced, physical 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame with noticeable strength. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, even stance utilizing a leg-kick to initiate his swing. Stretch upon load and a fluid lower half allowed for barrel whip through a slightly uphill barrel path generating an 88 mph bat-exit velocity. Flashed advanced barrel awareness , peppering both gaps with regularity. Ran a 7.31 60-yard dash, showing his comfortability in his frame. The primary outfielder displayed adequate footwork utilizing advantageous routes to play through the baseball with momentum. A strong lower half carried accurate 82 mph throws to the target out of a short and quick, high ¾ arm-slot with a moderate takeaway. The middle infielder showed a low center of gravity with range to both sides. Soft glove hand played through the ball with consistency while allowing for smooth transfers. Demonstrated accurate throws of 78 mph across the diamond. 

Drake Fittro OF / LHP / Choctaw, OK / 2024

A developing 5-foot-9, 140 pound frame with present athleticism. Left-handed hitter starts with a balanced, even setup utilizing a short stride to begin his swing. Keeps his weight on his backside and has feel for his hands, spraying balls to all fields . Registered a 77 mph bat-exit velocity using a line-drive/fly-ball approach. Ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. The outfielder demonstrated adequate footwork during defensive evaluations with a quick ¾ arm-stroke, recording 73 mph on throws from the outfield.

Gavin Haines OF / OF / Carl Albert, OK / 2021

The 6-foot, 170-pound outfielder displayed a strong, athletic frame with some additional room to fill out. The left-handed hitter starts with an upright, slightly open stance beginning with a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Utilizes his hips, getting good rotational movement producing a line-drive swing at a slight uphill angle producing consistent barrel contact. Present barrel-whip through the zone registering an 86 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 6.89 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder gets momentum behind his throws with clean, confident footwork. Recorded accurate 84 mph throws from a repeatable ¾ arm-slot.

Emanuel Jeter OF / LHP / Tuttle, OK / 2021

An athletic 5-foot-9, 155-pound frame. Left-handed hitter who starts with a slightly open stance. Starts his swing with a leg-lift load and rhythmic bat wiggle producing a fluid, line-drive swing. Gets good separation and advanced barrel awareness allowing him to spray the ball to all fields. Will continue to add pop as he adds weight. Repeatable swing registered an 84 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash. Clean, smooth fielding actions with good accuracy and carry on throws. Recorded 83 mph arm-strength from the outfield.

Grant Jones OF / Coweta, OK / 2021

The 5-foot-9, 155-pound outfielder displayed a strong, compact build with present strength and athleticism. The left-handed hitter starts with a narrow, upright stance with his hands out in front of the plate. Initiates swing with a high leg kick, bringing his bat to his ear with a slight bat-wrap. Sinks into lower half with aggressive swing producing good backspin with a line-drive approach. Tends to close himself off at times upon landing. Registered an 80 mph exit velocity off the bat. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. In the field, works behind the ball well and adequate footwork. Longer arm action with repeatable 80 mph throws from a ¾ arm-slot with small drift to the left.

Dondi King Jr. LHP / OF / Carl Albert, OK / 2021

A 6-foot-2, 189-pound lean, muscular, and athletic frame. Offensively, King is a switch hitter with some pop from both sides, with more consistent hard contact coming from the right side. Uses A balanced and athletic set-up with a big and quick reverse toe-tap before laying his barrel back and pulling his hands through a slightly uphill path with bat speed and some barrels strength. In BP, shows a middle to pull approach from the right and a pull approach form the left, mostly barrels, 91 mph exit velo. Runs a  6.82 60. Defensively, shows confident action with closing speed. Arm action is stiff coming through a high-¾ slot with accuracy at 80 mph. 

Austin Lemon OF / SS / Heritage Hall, OK / 2023

A lean, athletic 5-foot-10, 140-pound frame. Switch-hitting OF. RH swing starts using a wide, slightly open base. Initiates swing with load to his toe, producing compact line-drive swing. LH swing begins with weight on backside, starting his swing using a foot lift & hand load, sinking into his lower half for a slightly uphill, more consistent line-drive swing. Recorded an 84 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. Average glove actions and good feet working well through his throws from a high ¾ arm slot yielding accurate throws at 75 mph.

Cade McQuain OF / 3B / Dale, OK / 2021

A 5-foot-9, 150-pound lean and developing frame. The right-handed hitter starts in an athletic, upright stance with his hands set high by his ear. Begins his swing with a short leg kick, stretching his hands backward into a launch position. Registered a 79 mph bat-exit velocity with a line-drive approach to all areas of the field. Ran a 7.57 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder does a good job working behind the ball and using his momentum through his throws. Clean, long arm-action yielding 70 mph throws from his position.

Devin Mitchell OF / 2B / Bishop McGuinness, OK / 2023

The 5-foot-10, 150-pound primary outfielder displayed a long, projectable frame with present strength. The right-handed hitter begins in a wide, even setup with the front leg shaded in slightly towards the plate. A controlled leg-hang is utilized to generate a slightly uphill barrel through the zone with fluidity and sink into a strong lower half. Registered a 78 mph bat-exit velocity  and recorded a 7.89 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder showcased smooth movements coupled with adequate footwork during defensive evaluations. Arrived to the ball on time and used a fluid high ¾ arm-slot yielding accurate 73 mph throws from his position. 

Dax Sharp LHP / OF / Pryor, OK / 2021

Displayed a lean 6-foot, 155-pound frame with present athleticism. The left-handed hitter begins with a slightly bent stance keeping his hands set low. Starts swing with a controlled bat wiggle and quick leg-lift sometimes drifting onto his front-side. Slight uphill bat path producing mainly line-drives and fly-balls. Present bat-speed in bat recording an 88 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder with adequate footwork and good momentum behind throws. Accurate 76 mph throws from a longer, high ¾ arm slot.

Cameron Talburt OF / LHP / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2021

An athletic 5-foot-8, 165-pound frame with room for additional strength. From the right side, starts slightly open with rhythm in his hands and hips. Initiates swing with a leg kick and stride, sinking into his backside for a slightly uphill bat-path and a fluid line-drive swing. Backside stays through the ball, getting good extension and making consistent hard contact in BP. Registered an 80 mph exit velo. Ran a 6.96 60-yard dash. Defensively, adequate footwork doing a good job of getting momentum behind throws. Throws from over the top slot with good accuracy and carry on throws registering at 75 mph.

Eric Thompson OF / RHP / Bishop Kelley, OK / 2022

Featured a long 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame with present strength and projectability. The right-handed hitter starts with a wide, even stance utilizing a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Demonstrated sink into the lower half while creating stretch upon load allowing for an 86 mph bat-exit velocity . Hit into a soft front side with some barrel whip through a slightly uphill barrel path generating some backspin to the pull-side gap. Ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder displayed long, easy actions with adequate footwork during defensive evaluations. A soft glove hand played through the ball yielding accurate transfers and throws of 83 mph out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot. 

Jesse Tisdell OF / 2B / Choctaw, OK / 2022

The 5-foot-9, 140-pound primary outfielder displayed a lean, athletic frame with projectability and room to add on. The right-handed hitter begins from an even, balanced setup utilizing a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. A quick bat through the zone and an adequate usage of the lower half allowed for 82 mph bat-exit velocities  with a slightly uphill barrel path. Demonstrated advanced barrel awareness with the ability to hit the ball where it is pitched. Ran a 6.94 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder took advantageous routes to the ball playing low and through to the target. Featured a soft glove hand with consistent, easy transfers. A high ¾ arm-slot with adequate stretch yielded accurate throws of 79 mph from his position. The middle infielder showcased adequate footwork with range to both sides. A low center of gravity and feel for his hands allowed for push and pull with the glove when necessary. Registered an accurate 76 mph arm-strength across the infield. 

Kenyon Tollison RHP / OF / Bridgecreek, OK / 2021

Demonstrated a lean 5-foot-9, 135-pound frame with room to add strength. The right-handed hitter begins with a wide, square stance with weight shaded towards the backside, utilizing a short lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. A deep load with stretch is pulled through a flat barrel-path generating a 76 mph bat-exit velocity . Displayed a line-drive approach barreling balls to the middle of the field. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. The outfielder showcased some athleticism during defensive evaluations with fluid actions and adequate footwork that played through the baseball. A soft glove hand and smooth transfers allowed for accurate 73 mph arm-strength out of a high-effort, high ¾ arm-slot. 

Cale Wetwiska OF / RHP / Bethany, OK / 2023

Showcased a lean 5-foot-10, 135-pound frame with room to add strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, even stance utilizing a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Demonstrated some fluidity in the hips while hitting into a soft front-side. A flat barrel path coupled with an easy line-drive approach was used to generate a 76 mph bat-exit velocity . Ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder displayed athletic actions with adequate footwork that played through the baseball consistently. A soft glove hand coupled with smooth transfers allowed for controlled, repetitive movements. Utilized an accurate 77 mph arm-strength out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot with advanced stretch. 

Tate Wilkins OF / C / Duncan , OK / 2021

A physical 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame that continues to show development and athleticism. The right-handed hitter starts upright with a narrow, open base and his hands set high. Initiates his swing with a simple, quick stride and a fast line-drive swing, barreling up baseballs during his round of BP. Consistent mid-pull approach, showcasing bat speed and barrel strength with an 89 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 6.82 60-yard dash. In the OF, displays quick, efficient footwork using his momentum to get behind his throws. Arm works from over the top angle yielding accurate throws at 77 mph.

Kaden Wright OF / RHP / Bixby, OK / 2022

Displayed feel for a lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame with present strength. The right-handed hitter begins in a tall, slightly open setup utilizing a controlled leg-kick to initiate his swing. Solid hip-shoulder separation coupled with sink into a fluid lower half allowed for a slightly uphill barrel path through the baseball. Generated easy 83 mph bat-exit velocity yielding backspin to both gaps . Demonstrated advanced barrel awareness with consistent feel for his hands. Ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder featured advanced footwork that played through the baseball with regularity. Momentum created by a strong lower half and a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot with stretch allowed for accurate 89 mph arm-strength with carry from his position.
