The OK Winter Showcase was held at the World Baseball Outreach facility in Tulsa, OK on Sunday, December 16th.  This one day event featured over 60 prospects in the 2019-2022 from around the state showcasing their skills in front of PBR staff and college coaches.

This talented event saw impressive numbers in every category, including seven sub seven second 60s, seven 90+ exit velos, seven arms that were 80+ across the infield (top 92), five arms that were 85+ from the outfield (top 97), and four pitchers that were 86+ (top 92)

Today, we take an in-depth look at the five senior right-handers from the event. Although a few of them are solid two-way players, they will be covered here only as pitchers, with position analysis to follow in the coming days.

Creighton Bugg RHP / Kingfisher, OK / 2019

A physically impressive 6-foot-4, 215-pound durable frame. On the mound the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with rhythm and a high leg kick and hip load before striding slightly open down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is long throughout with looseness coming through with slinging action through a high-¾ slot. Fastball shows some downhill tilt at 80-82 mph, commanded in the zone. Curveball has gradual  break with near 12/6 shape at 63-64 mph, some strikes. Changeup is thrown with near fastball arm speed and slight fade at 72-73 mph, commanded in the zone.

Caleb Burchfield RHP / SS / Homeschool, OK / 2019

A lean and projectable 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo and controlled delivery with a high leg kick before driving down the mound and finishing balanced. Fastball sits 83-86 mph with occasional cut, almost all strikes. Slider has tight spin with 11/5 shape and late depth at 67-69 mph, thrown for strikes and as a chase pitch. Changeup is thrown with full arm speed showing consistent late and heavy sink and run at 76-77 mph, advanced command. Curveball shows gradual break with near 12/6 shape at 65-67 mph, spins out at times.

Cody Floyd C / 3B / Yukon, OK / 2019

A proportional 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a pause at the top of a high leg kick before taking a long stride down the mound and finishing to the first base side. Arm action is long, clean, and fast in the back before coming through a near over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 79-81 mph with deception and jumps to the dish, coming from behind his head, almost all strikes. Curveball shows near 12/6 shape with tight spin and late depth at 63-65 mph, commanded in the zone. Changeup is still developing at 64-69 mph.

Colt Gniech RHP / 3B / Union, OK / 2019

A very lean and projectable 6-foot-1, 151-pound frame with lots of room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-hander works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with some rhythm with a short leg kick before driving to the dish and finishing slightly to the first base side. Arm action is long and fast throughout, coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 79-80 mph, mostly strikes. Changeup is thrown with full arm speed and shows consistent late fade with depth at 74-75 mph, commanded in the zone. Curveball has near 12/6 shape with gradual break, spins out at times, 68-69 mph.

Tyler Henry RHP / OF / Blanchard , OK / 2019

A 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with some strength. On the mound, the right-hander works from an up-tempo delivery with a high leg kick and short stride. Arm action is long in the back before a quick change of direction at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through a high-¾ slot with some looseness. Fastball keeps it plane at 79-82 mph, consistently at the bottom of the zone. Curveball is well advanced and college ready with tight spin, late break, and big depth with 11/5 shape at 70-71 mph, commanded at the bottom of the zone. Changeup shows consistent fade at 70-72, also thrown consistently for strikes.
