The inaugural rankings for Oklahoma’s 2020 class have arrived. Topping not only the Oklahoma rankings, but the PBR Overall rankings as well, is RHP/OF Nate Wohlgemuth (Owasso HS, OK). Wohlgemuth is barrel chested with strength throughout his 5-foot-11, 195-pound frame. He has an up tempo, athletic delivery on the mound with a fast arm and quality leg drive. His fastball sits 89-93 with occasional run, and he possesses an excellent changeup with fade and sink at 80-82. His breaking ball has slurvy shape with some depth at 71-74. Wohlgemuth stands out not only for his velo, but his high-end pitchability as well. Offensively, he uses a balanced, athletic stance from the right side. He’s short to the ball with strong hands that produce advanced pop and he has a rotational finish. Defensively, he shows athletic actions and excellent arm strength.

SS/RHP Cade Horton (Norman HS, OK), holds the second position in Oklahoma, and the No. 25 spot in the Overall Rankings. The 6-foot, 165-pound athlete has a lean projectable frame that has just begun to develop. Offensively, he’s a right-handed hitter with a line drive, middle to opposite field approach. He hits from a very narrow stance with a slight leg kick and keeps his hands tight and inside the baseball, showing some bat speed. Horton is one of the best defenders of his class in the state, showing athletic actions, soft, consistent sure hands, and advanced rhythm. He throws from multiple angles with accuracy and elite arm strength for his age. Though he may not stand out in the 60, Horton plays fast and is a threat to take an extra base or steal a bag. On the mound, Horton seems to be adding velocity by the day, currently sitting 85-89 mph. A strike thrower with the fastball, he will also mix in a breaking ball with gradual break at 70-72 mph. Horton pitches with a loose and clean arm action that will likely continue to add velo as he develops physically.

OF Jace Bohrofen (Westmoore HS, OK), rounds out the top three for Oklahoma, and the No. 27 slot in the Overall Rankings. He has  6-foot-1, 175-pound and physically advanced build. He will likely to continue to fill out in the same manner that his older brother, Oklahoma recruit Braxton Bohrofen, did. Offensively, he’s a left-handed hitter with an all-fields, line-drive approach with pop. Bohrofen left the yard three times in three consecutive at-bats in a game this spring. He hits from an upright, relaxed and balanced set-up with good rhythm in his hands that he starts in front of his chest. He uses a small load, moderate stride and shows off very quick hands. Bohrofen is flat to contact with a high finish and creates consistent backspin. Defensively, he has clean, confident and advanced actions. He throws from an over the top slot with some carry and good accuracy.
