A look at some players in the 2019-2020 classes who are ready to make a name for themselves on a national stage during the summer. In the list are two catchers, two infielders, and two pitchers who should be drawing multiple scouts at their games throughout the summer.

Zachary Selchow C / OF / Eastview, MN / 2019

Selchow was part of a strong 2019 cast of catchers at PBR Minnesota’s Preseason Underclass showcase. His frame looks like it will continue to attract muscle, especially in his already strong lower-half. At 6-foot-1, 175-pounds he has the look of a catcher behind the plate, and exhibits loose hips with a wide target. Throwing from a true crouch where he did not start high, Selchow was smooth and under control while producing pop times between 1.9-2.0. Each throw was right on the bag, and with a bit more help on his footwork, he will likely be sitting at a 1.9 in the near future. Selchow is a solid receiver who will be helped by more game action as well as playing with better competition more often throughout the summer. At the plate, Selchow sets up fairly wide with his weight semi-crouched on the back leg with his back elbow high and his hands held at shoulder level. As the pitch comes in, he utilizes a back waggle to move his hands back as his front foot toe taps before giving way to a short stride. Selchow’s hands come through on an upward plane, and feature some quickness, but more strength through the zone as he works the middle of the field. With his frame and athleticism behind the plate, Selchow has a chance to develop into a solid catching prospect that recruiters should take notice of throughout the summer
