PBR OK Power 25: Week Seven

Scott Hood
OK/MO/KS/ARK Assistant Scouting Director

We're just weeks away from the end of the regular season and into regional play and teams are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack in their respective divisions.  Week 7 saw some teams get off the mat and look like themselves after stumbling previously as well as some exciting action in 5A with some of the top teams meeting up in Piedmont in what should be a sneak preview of what we could see later in May.  The Power 25 is compiled looking at team's entire resume from the start of the season with emphasis put on record, strength of schedule, strength of record, and our own scouting eyes from catching games throughout the spring.  All records listed are taken off the OSSAA website.

The Redhawks from Union remain at the top of the list after an undefeated week.  Bixby sees themselves bounce back after an uncharacteristic 1-4 record in the previous week to showing their muscle again moving up to number 2.  The Titans from Carl Albert continue to make moves up the Power 25 after a very strong showing against some of the best in 5A.  Piedmont enters the top 10 for the first time after they continue to look even stronger as the season progresses.

There are three teams new to this week's Power 25 with two working their way back in and one making their Power 25 debut.  Cushing is the one remaining undefeated team across all of Oklahoma amassing an impressive 22-0 record.  While their strength of schedule might not be as strong as others on this list, it's their dominating performances outscoring their opponents 248 to 62.  Westmoore jumps back into the Power 25 as they seem to have gotten their feet on steady ground working their way to the 20 win mark and an impressive 11-1 record in district play.  And finally Chickasha is welcomed back into the Power 25 after picking off two Power 25 opponents from last week's rankings and getting to that 25 win mark.
