PBR OK Preseason All-State: Event Preview

Scott Hood
OK/MO/KS/ARK Assistant Scouting Director

On Sunday, February 12th PBR OK will host the Preseason All-State event at Oral Roberts University. This event, like all of our showcases, will serve as an opportunity for our staff to check in on players from this respective region of the state prior to the high school season commencing. All of our events serve as identifiers for future invite-only events as well, such as the PBR Future Games.

The Preseason All-State will allow some of the top talent in the State to put themselves on the recruiting map before we kick off Opening Day in just a few weeks.  With this talented of a roster there will certainly be some big risers coming out of the day.

ROSTER PREVIEW

This Preseason All-State has a loaded roster and is one of the biggest events we've ever run in Oklahoma.  The roster is full of some of the top talent from the 2023 class to some intriguing 2026 graduates.  There are plenty of well-known prospects in attendance including 10 already committed to the next level as well as plenty of prospects looking to raise their stock after another off-season of putting in the work it takes to take their game to the next level.  There will undoubtedly be multiple players that catch our eye throughout the day but at first glance there are multiple players that we've seen in the past that are worth mentioning ahead of the event.

2023 OF Devin Mitchell from Edmond Santa and Tarleton State commit has impressed throughout his high school career including a big performance at last year's Preseason All-State.  2024 utility man Owen Coil from Stillwater has already committed to ORU and will look to improve on his already impressive resume.  2025 grad and OU commit Aidan Tomlinson jumped onto the scene this past summer will be in attendance.  2024 Tulane commit Marlon Moore from Washington HS is one of the top fielding infielders in the state and will show off his smooth actions on Sunday.  2024 RHP Tyler Davis from Owasso pitched the Rams to a State Championship in 2022 and committing to OU shortly after.  There have been multiple reports of 2023 Seminole commit Cole Girard from Piedmont making big jumps in the past couple of months and he will look to cement his spot as one of the top power arms for the class.  One of the top 2-way prospects in the 2026 class in Hunter Watson and OU commit from Tuttle will show his work both on the mound and behind the plate.  Along with Watson, there are two more prospects from Tuttle both committed to Cowley County that will look to show off their skills in Alex Conover and Ashton Bennight.

The event also features an impressive crop of currently uncommitted prospects that either are or soon will be on a recruiting radars.  2025 SS Carson Brumbaugh from Edmond Santa Fe is one of the top shortstops in the country.  2025 C/1B from Holland Hall Luke Beeler is one of the top power bats in the state for the 2025 class.   2024 RHP Eli Buxton from Sand Springs has continued to make big consistent jumps in the past couple of months and should be one to keep an eye on Sunday.  2024 RHP Connor Johnson from Salina HS impressed in last summer's Future Games and is one of the top uncommitted arms in that class.  There's been many preseason reports of big jumps from 2025 RHP/SS Brian Justice from Bixby.  2024 INF Dax McCaskill from Washington HS impressed two weeks ago at the OKC Preseason ID and will look to solidify himself as a big riser in the 2024 class.  2025 RHP/3B Declan Murphy from Carl Albert HS showed his big potential at last summer's Future Games especially on the mound with his sinker/slider combo.  2024 RHP/OF Austin Parker impressed in our looks at him during games in the summer circuit and will look to show off some improved numbers since the last time we've seen him in a showcase setting.  2025 catcher Mason Pickering from Hilldale plays with a ton of energy and is one of the top catchers in the 2025 class.  2025 OF/INF Bryce Tapley from Bethel is one of the fastest players in the State and will show off his impressive tools on Sunday.  2026 1B Jackson Turney from Sand Springs has one of the better power bats for the class from the left side of the plate.  One of the top risers in the past couple of months, 2024 RHP/UTL Brody Wicker from Ponca City will look to improve on his already impressive numbers.  2025 OF Rhett Winchester jumped onto the scene as a freshman for Edmond Memorial last spring and will look to raise his stock on Sunday.

These are just a few players that have shown big skills in the past with plenty of more prospects that will be in attendance that will turn some heads.  We will be highlighting players that show off big talent at the event in the following days of the event.
