Enid Fall ID: Quick Hits

Bret Schwartz
Prep Baseball Oklahoma Scouting Director

On Sunday, October 27th, the Prep Baseball Oklahoma staff traveled to David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid, OK to host the Enid Fall ID. This event, which is in its 1st year, was an event open to 2025-2028 prospects with 25 names in attendance.

All of our events offer players the opportunity to update their recruiting resume and showcase their talents in front of our staff. We also use these events as identifiers for future invite-only events, like the Preseason All-State, our summer Top Prospect Games, and the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that takes place at the tail end of the summer. Earlier, our staff rolled out the day’s statistical standouts in leaderboard format within our ‘Stat Story’, which you can find HERE. Today, after combing through our notes from the day, we’ve compiled some of the event’s standouts within these ‘Quick Hits’. Read below to learn about 10 names that popped to our staff from Sunday's trip to Enid.

PITCHERS

+ Our staff got our first look at RHP Israel Gonzales (Enid) and he had a standout showing on the mound. Listed at 6-foot, 165-pounds, there is still plenty of room to continue filling out his frame. Gonzales showcased an exciting mix utilizing his athleticism and low effort delivery. The senior ran his fastball up to 88.7 mph with armside run in 20.9” max HM. Gonzales utilized a change-up with an average of 16.6” HM that tunnels well with his fastball. His mix finished with both a curveball and a slider giving him multiple options to attack hitters from each side.

+ RHP Brayden Trogdon (Yukon, 2026) came away from the event as a winner on the mound. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound junior filled up the zone with an impressive mix, commanding both sides of the plate. He ran his fastball up to 87.5 mph, consistently sitting between 86-87 mph with 2,300+ RPM of spin. Further, Trogdon’s fastball also played with ride through the zone showed at 19.7 max IVB. His curveball may have been the most impressive offering in his mix, spinning at 2570+ RPM’s and showing the ability to land it in the zone 77-79 mph. He also added a fading changeup at 82-83 mph to round out his mix.

+ RHP Keagen Marshall (Deer Creek, 2026) showed gains in both stuff and velocity from the last time our staff had the opportunity to see him on the mound. The projectable, 6’4” 175 lb right hander, used a three-pitch mix with command throughout the zone. His fastball worked 85-86, touching 86.6 with 2400+ RPM’s and carry at 15.7” max IVB. Paired with his fastball, Marshall’s slider worked 78-79 and maxed out at 2448 RPM’s and change-up used armside run at 78-79 to round out his mix. With room to still grow, Marshall is an exciting follow into the spring.

HITTERS

+ OF/C Kaleb Thiessen (Calumet, 2026) has continued to impress our staff each chance we have been able to see him. A switch-hitter, his athleticism was apparent as he ran an event best 6.79 60. Offensively, he showed a discipline, gap to gap approach with the ability to use the entire field with an average exit velocity of 89.4 mph which also led the event.. The junior has shown continued versatility defensively, both as a catcher and outfielder, and touched 89 mph from the outfield in Enid. We are excited to see the continued development from the Calumet product this spring.

+ INF Brendon Voss (Calumet, 2027) came away as one of the biggest winners from the Enid Fall ID. The 6-foot, 162-pound wirey sophomore started the day by showing off his noticeable athleticism, posting a 6.96 60 time. At the plate, Voss showed one of the more mature approaches we have seen throughout the fall - primarily working through right center field with a max exit velo of 91.6 mph. The Calumet native further displayed his athleticism on the infield, showcasing clean actions and working through the baseball. Voss will definitely be a name to keep an eye on early this spring as he continues to grow and develop physically.

+ Packed with strength and physicality in a 6-foot-1, 196-pound frame, C Trevor Haws (Chisholm, 2025) showed well on both sides of the ball in this event. At the plate, he paced the event with an event leading max exit velo of 96.8 mph. Haws swung with intent and showing extra-base-hit potential from the right side. Defensively, his 1.95-2.0 pop time also led the event displaying good feet, quick transfers, and accurate throws with carry. Still uncommitted, Haws is a prospect to check in on for schools looking for middle of the order potential at catcher.

TWO-WAYS

+ RHP/INF Jeron Dow (Enid, 2027) continues to emerge as a young name-to-know two-way player in the state’s 2027 class, flashing tools across the board in this event. On the mound, Dow touched 86.6 mph with command throughout his pen and mixed in a curveball and change-up as well. At the plate, Dow consistently barreled balls throughout his round of BP, using a simple stroke from the right side of the plate to reach a max exit velocity of 96.1. His long levers also produced an event best max and average bat speeds via Blast Motion at 77.9 mph and 72.1 respectively. Defensively, he showcased clean actions on the infield, receiving the ball out front with soft hands, and reaching 87 mph across (event best).

+ LHP/UTL Dallas Darrow (Enid, 2026) showed his continued development and work through the fall coming to fruition with tangible results. His 6’4” frame is now up to 190 lbs and is seeing both his velo rise on the mound and personal bests in exit velo, bat speed, and 60 time. On the mound, the southpaw commanded three pitches with a split change-up registering only 861 RPMs on average and all the makings of being plus. At the plate, he recorded a max exit velo of 93.5 from the right side and using his long levers to show extra-base-hit potential.  Darrow is a name to continue following into the spring as he continues to fill out projectable frame with much more to come.

+ Physical OF/RHP Jack Guinn (Piedmont, 2026) showed his continued development on both sides of the ball from his strong 5’10”, 190 lb frame. At the plate, Guinn’s measureables continue to improve as he reached personal bests in both max exit velocity (95.1 mph) and average exit velo (88.6 mph). In the outfield, he worked up to 86 mph showing carry and an accurate throwing arm. On the mound, Guinn showed the ability to land his three-pitch mix with his fastball up to 84.7 mph. The junior will be an exciting follow for Piedmont this spring.

+ UTL/LHP Preston Welch (Byng, 2026) impressed on both sides of the ball with a max exit velocity of 96.5 mph and present arm strength from the outfield at 89 mph. A strong frame, currently 5’11” and 190 lbs, Welch also ran his best 60 time to date at 7.24, but his polish on the mound might leave the most room for projection. Welch’s fastball was up to 86.9 mph while also mixing both a curveball and change-up with command. His curveball in particular had consistent shape while spinning at 2450+ RPMs. A significant role in Byng’s fall success and run to the state tournament, Welch promises to be a name to know as we march toward the spring season.
