spring training watch list - underclass

Jackson Kornylo RHP / 1B / Donald A. Wilson, ON / 2024

Uncommitted 2025 RHP Jackson Kornylo has really jumped onto the scene over the past year with a quality combination of size and stuff on the mound. Looks the part at 6-foot-5, 188-pounds and gets downhill with intent and long arm-action. The fastball sat mid-80s throughout the summer but he’s recently jumped into the 90s following the winter. Feel for the mound and his offspeed stuff. Recently moved back to the 2025 class and now possesses some of the better stuff we’ve seen from that class. Will be one of the most intriguing uncommitted arms down in Florida this next week.

DJ Mazzaferro SS / RHP / USS, ON / 2026

Uncommitted SS/RHP DJ Mazzaferro is one of the top 2026 prospects in Ontario and has developed well over the past year on the mound and at the dish. Looks noticeably stronger with room to add more at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds and he’s confident with the glove and actions at shortstop. Arm strength across the diamond that also plays on the mound where he’s now sitting in the low-to-mid 80s. Has always had the bat-to-ball skills from the right-side and the added size has him able to hit the gaps with more ease. One of the top underclassmen to keep an eye on over the next week in Cocoa.

Ryan McGivney RHP / C / Sinclair, ON / 2025

RHP/C Ryan McGivney recently reclassified to a 2025 and has immediately made himself one of the more intriguing arms in the class following some offseason gains and development. There looks to be more upside on the mound right now where we saw him sitting 86-88mph in mid-January. 5-foot-10, 175-pounds with clean mechanics and works with intent. Posts pop-times in the low 2.00’s with arm strength in the mid 70s. Also a right-handed hitter who’s added some strength over the past year and works gap-to-gap. Will be one of the better uncommitted arms to follow down in Florida.

Jackson Feggi RHP / OF / Eastview Secondary School , ON / 2025

Uncommitted 2025 RHP/OF Jackson Feggi was one of the top performers at Barrie Scout Day with his overall actions on the field and the mound. Long, thin frame with lots of room to add strength at 6-foot, 155-pounds. Moves well in the outfield and puts himself in good throwings positions. The arm translates to the mound where he moves well with a smooth, easy delivery and fastball that sits in the upper 70s. Lots to like in the swing as well with a big leg-kick and smooth, quick bat that generates line-drive contact. Tons of potential in his game as a positional player and on the mound as he adds strength, fills out and continues to develop.

Luke Druken RHP / 3B / Waterford Valley , NL / 2025

2025 RHP Luke Druken was a Junior Future Gamer this past summer and continues to trend upwards on the mound. 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-hander who stands out with his strike-throwing ability and quick arm action. A competitor on the mound with a fastball we’ve seen up to 82mph with armside run. Has feel for his offspeed offerings with a good slider with tight horizontal break, curveball and changeup. Lots to like in this true 2025 arm out of PSA in Newfoundland and it will be interesting to get a look at his offseason development down in Florida.

Logan Cummins SS / RHP / Joan of Arc, ON / 2026

2026 SS/RHP Logan Cummins attended a pair of PBR events during the fall/winter and stood with his actions, athleticism and projectability. 5-foot-11, 145-pounds with smooth actions and some arm strength on the infield. There’s lots to like in the right-handed swing and the bat is quick through the zone, working to the pullside. Everything looks right on the field with Cummins and it will be interesting to see just how high he can take his game as he begins to add strength throughout high school.
