Barrie Baycats Scout Day: Quick Hits

On Monday, September 19th, Ontario’s 2022 Fall Showcase Scene got underway at Vintage Throne Stadium in Minesing, Ontario for the Barrie Baycats Scout Day. With an annual Scout Day each year with the program, our staff has found several highly talented young prospects over the years at the Baycats Scout Days who have gone on to play for our Select Teams in the U.S.
On Monday we got a look at roughly 45 players from across the organization with a few good looking unsigned seniors, as well as some intriguing underclassmen from the 2025 and 2026 classes. All players ran through our state-of-the-art technologies, including Swift athletic testing and TrackMan for both batting practice and pitchers.
Below, we provide reports and video on five of the players who impressed our staff on Monday.

Jackson Feggi RHP / OF / Eastview Secondary School , ON / 20255-foot-11, 150-pound ‘25 Jackson Feggi may have been the top prospect on the day at the Baycats Scout Day. Everything he does on the field looks right, including his athletic movements. He started the day in the outfield flashing a live, loose arm that was up to 79mph, tops at the event. At the dish he had a loose swing from the right-side with consistent line-drive contact and will only get better as he adds strength. Sat 75-76 with his fastball on the mound where the arm is clean, loose and quick. Has feel for the mound and looks the part everywhere on the field. Impressive showing from the 2025 two-way.

Ty McGuirk 3B / RHP / Collingwood Collegiate Institute , ON / 2025Another player who flashed his upside on both sides is 2025 SS/RHP Ty McGuirk. Was one of the best on the infield with his combination of size, footwork, actions and arm strength (75mph). It wasn’t the best round of BP we’ve seen from him but he found a few barrels and showed what he’s capable of at the dish. On the mound he sat 77-79 with the fastball and had feel for his breaking ball. Lots to like in the frame right now at 6-foot, 170-pounds and there’s no doubt he’s one of the top prospects in Barrie’s organization.

Brody Clark OF / RHP / Innisdale Secondary, ON / 20252025 outfielder Brody Clark was another underclassmen who caught our staff’s attention on Monday night. His big, projectable frame immediately stands out at 6-foot-1, 170-pounds and he moves well around the diamond. Played through the ball well in the outfield with carry on his accurate throws at 78mph. Level, line-drive swing from the right-side with the potential for some power as he fills out and adds strength. Top exit velocity of 81mph. Also stepped on the mound and worked in the low 70s with his fastball.

Johnathan Warden RHP / SS / St.Joseph High School, ON / 20242023 RHP Johnathan Warden was one of the top arms on the day, working from a deceptive low-¾ arm slot. Warden was consistently on-time in his delivery and his fastball sat 78-80mph and was filling up the zone with it. His changeup at 70-81mph was his best secondary offering and sells it well with arm speed. Also flashed a slider at 63-65mph with more vertical, top-to-bottom shape. Also worked up to 77 mph across the diamond, best at the event, but the upside looks to be on the mound. Interesting unsigned senior here for junior college coaches.

Sebastien Pasquali OF / Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School, ON / 2023Rankings StateRank: 135 / POS: 27
2023 Sebastian Pasquali posted one of the most consistent rounds of BP at the event. Nearly every swing was on-time, on-plane and off the bat at 85+ mph. Left-handed hitting outfielder who was elevating the ball at times with a balanced swing and had put together a mate round from start to finish. Finished his round with six straight elevated hard barrels to the RCF gap, with half of them at 87mph. Impressive showing with the bat on Monday from Pasquali.
