Thomas, 6-foot, 200-pounds, is one of Canada’s top arms in the 2023 class. He features a high 80’s-low 90’s fastball from a low ¾ arm slot with whippy arm action. The slider is tight with frisbee-ish action and the change-up has fade to it. He attacks hitters with all 3 pitches with an up-tempo delivery. The former Future Gamer and Missouri State commit projects to be an impact arm at the next level.

Thomas made a trio of appearances for the JNT down in the Dominican and allowed just two runs across 13.1 innings. He throws strikes and is able to live down in the zone with sink on the fastball, amassing ground balls and soft contact. The 6-foot, 195-pound right-hander limited the walks (4.1/per 9) as well as hits (5.5/per 9) against pro hitters, while striking out 10 (6.9/per nine). Thomas looked to be one of the more efficient and reliable arms in the Dominican for Team Canada.

Thomas got the ball in Game 1 for the Canadian team and set the tone going 2.1 innings without allowing a run. The right-hander established his fastball that worked in the 88-89 for his entire outing while the slider showed tilt and spin that was regularly in the 2500 RPMs and was 74-76 mph. Thomas pitched with pace and did a good job of attacking and filling up the zone, getting swings and misses with all three of his offerings. The 2023 has arm speed with a clean ¾ slot and is only going to get stronger while the stuff polishes and he continues to trend up.
