Future Games Trials (Session 2): Quick Hits I

Cam Black-Araujo
Assistant Director, PBR Canada

On Monday, April 10th, the PBR Ontario staff returned to The Athlete Matrix facility in Mississauga to host our second session of the Future Games Trials. We had roughly 70 players from the 2025 and 2026 classes in attendance for the final indoor Future Games Trials before players begin heading outdoors for live-game action.

The event gave our staff a look at some of the top uncommitted players in those classes who are all vying for a spot on Canada's team at this summer's Future Games at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Georgia. It was a talented roster with a ton of impressive performances on both sides of the ball and we continue it all down below.

At this event, we retrieved a significant amount of data on each player including: 30-yard times, batting practice measured by TrackMan, catcher pop-times and velocity, outfield evaluation and velocity, infield evaluation and velocity and pitcher bullpens analyzed and assessed by TrackMan. We pride ourselves on utilizing the latest technology in the game to provide the most accurate data for both the player and those recruiting/evaluating the player.

Below, we continue our post-event coverage with our first set of Quick Hits which takes a look at six standouts from the event.

Adam Cameron RHP / 3B / Abbey Park, ON / 2025

2025 RHP Adam Cameron was one of the top arms at our second session of the Future Games Trials and posted the top fastball velocity of 87.6mph. Big, physical right-hander on the mound at 6-foot-4, 205-pounds and the fastball sat 85-87mph with armside run. Flashed a high-spin slider with sharp, late bite at 70-73mph (2341rpm avg.) along with a changeup at 75-77mph with heavy fade. Quality three-pitch mix right now and it will be interesting to see how it plays in-game throughout the summer.

Keegan Russell RHP / 1B / All Saints, ON / 2025

Another big, strong right-hander from the event who was tied for the top fastball velocity at the event (87.6mph). Towering frame at 6-foot-5, 235-pounds and the fastball sat 86-87mph with 97% spin efficiency and filled up the zone with the pitch. Shorter, quick arm-action and worked with a slider at 70-72mph and changeup at 76-78mph. Velocity looks to come easy on the mound with the size and the development of the offspeed stuff will be what takes him to the next level. Also swung the bat from the left-side and generated a peak exit velocity of 91mph.

Keegan Bazinet RHP / 2B / FJ Brennan, ON / 2025

2025 RHP Keegan Bazinet put together one of the better bullpens at the event with feel for his three-pitch mix and plenty of strikes. 6-foot, 155-pound frame with tons of room to fill out and add strength. Fastball sat 84-86mph from an up-tempo delivery with long, clean arm action. Breaking ball sat 71-72mph with top-to-bottom shape with the ability to locate it, along with a downer changeup at 74-76mph. Offspeed pitches compliment eachother well as both have a vertical look and shape to it. Intriguing arm out of the Windsor Selects program to keep tabs on as the velocity should continue trending upwards as he grows and matures.

Noah Hipolito RHP / OF / St. Marcellinus , ON / 2025

2025 RHP/OF Noah Hipolito was one of the most intriguing prospects at the event and his athleticism showed in all areas of the showcase. 6-foot, 160-pound frame with athletic, elastic movements on the mound. Generates spin on the fastball at 85-87mph (2309rpm avg.) with life through the zone. Flashed a sinker at 84-85mph with some heavy horizontal break at times.

Lacks some consistency and bite to his firm curveball at 75-76mph. Changeup looks to be the out pitch right now with feel for it, heavy horizontal break and really kills the spin on it at 705rpm avg. Intriguing arm in the 2025 class with two quality pitches right now, athleticism and plenty more to come. Was also up to 89mph from the outfield (best at event), ran a 3.88 30-yard and had a peak exit velocity of 94.4mph (best at event).

Logan Ion RHP / RHP / Sandwich Secondary , ON / 2025

025 RHP Logan Ion was another good looking arm from the Windsor Selects and stood out with his size and three-pitch mix. Long, lean frame at 6-foot-5, 200-pounds and the high-¾ arm slot creates some sink to the fastball (1709rpm avg.). Breaking ball compliments it well from a similar arm-slot with gradual, downward action at 71-72mph. Also flashed a changeup at 69-70mph with downward look to it (1109rpm). Has interesting characteristics to all his pitches with a desirable frame on the mound. Will be an arm to follow West of Toronto throughout the summer.

Adyn Schell 3B / RHP / Martingrove CI , ON / 2026

2026 3B/RHP Adyn Schell was the most intriguing player in his class at the event and flashed his strength on the mound and at the dish. 6-foot-2, 200-pound right-hander with a fastball that sat 84-85mph with armside run from a clean, repeatable delivery. Slider at 70-72 was his best secondary offering with slurve-like action and tight, late break. Also showed feel for a good changeup and really pulls the string on it with fade and some downward action. Intriguing look with the size and stuff on the mound.

Fields the ball cleanly and outfront at third base, although it projects as a first baseman down the road where he should be able to defend at a high-level. The left-handed hitter put up one of the better rounds of BP with a combination of line drives and elevated balls to the middle of the field. Balanced swing with looseness to it, strong wrists and a strong finish. You can immediately chalk him up as one of the top two-way players in Ontario’s 2026 class.
