Sam White C / SS / Aurora, ON / 2023

Report: White is quickly establishing himself as one of Canada’s top bats in the 2022 class (West Virginia ‘23). Approach at the plate stands out, doesn’t get cheated, shows good plate discipline, doesn’t appreciate called strikes on him. The setup is quiet, swing is geared for line drives with the ability to hit the ball to the deepest part of the ballpark, has barrel feel, ball jumps off the bat, has a chance to hit for some power. Defensively it plays at 3B, new to catching, still raw behind the plate. The arm works, hands are soft, mobility checks out, and with reps he’s a close follow as a catching prospect.

Myles Naylor SS / OF / St. Joan of Arc, ON / 2023

Report: A burly 6-foot, 175-pound frame, Naylor (Texas Tech ‘23) strung together three hits in his second game, all of them barrels and to both gaps. Swing is short but loaded with strength, does a good job of staying inside the ball and recognizes spin well. He ambushes pitchers early in the count, shows composure/level-headedness throughout his game. Defensively can play anywhere in the infield, arm can keep him on the left side, hands are soft, has a good internal clock.

Jackson Somerville OF / Nelson, ON / 2021

Report: Uncommitted 2022 Jackson Somerville was one of those guys that kept showing up on both sides of the ball. At the plate he takes aggressive swings, finds ways to work deep in the count and catches some barrel. In the outfield he ran a long way in right, fully extending to make an impressive diving catch, arm works. Overall there’s physicality and scrappiness to his game, has made visible strides in his game - an easy JUCO pickup.

Cameron Chee-Aloy OF / SS / Neil McNeil, ON / 2023

Report: Super twitchy player on both sides of the ball, bat is quick through the zone, strung together good at-bats, handles velo well and has some gap-to-gap pop that compliments his speed. Body is well put together, has strength right now. Arm is his loudest tool, and he’s getting better at taming it. The glove and speed play well in game, giving him a chance to stay in CF long term. Uncommitted.

Nathaniel Ochoa SS / 3B / Notre Dame Catholic, ON / 2022

Report: Passes the eye test at 6-foot-4, 210-pounds, looks great in a uniform. Hit tool comes and goes, there’s mechanical issues, swing has come a long way, has some raw power that shows in game from time to time. Swing can be long, but drives the ball with authority to both gaps when on time. Hands work in the infield, arm will keep him on the left side, first step needs some work, should get a chance at SS but also profiles as a 3B. In-game speed works. Uncommitted.

Ty Hamilton LHP / OF / NA, ON / 2023

Report: Gets up to the plate ready to swing, has collected multiple hits throughout the week, uses the middle of the field well. Hands tend to get away from his body at the plate, struggles with the FB in but gets to pitches on the outer half. Left on left outfielder with a strong/broad frame.

Makaio Cisneros RHP / OF / All Saints Catholic secondary school, ON / 2023

Report: A wiry 6-foot, 155-pound body with twitch, athleticism and looseness on the mound. Sat 84-86 from a low 3/4 slot, works quickly with an up-tempo delivery, showed arm speed through his CH and kept it down in the zone. Still young with time to add size and strength, he’ll be an interesting follow into the Spring.
