Ontario Top Ten Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles - #1 Demi Orimoloye

Demi Orimoloye#1 Demi Orimoloye, OF, 2015 (Milwaukee Brewers 4th Round)
Background: Orimoloye was one of the most intriguing prospects in the entire 2015 MLB draft for high schoolers and it comes as no surprise that he was at the top of our list for most viewed profiles in 2015. He is one of the most gifted and freakish athletes we have seen not only in Ontario, but Canada for that matter in a long time. Orimoloye is considered a potential five tool player with all the tools to be an all-star caliber player for a very long time. There is still some rawness to his game and is still learning, but the physical attributes and ability get baseball scouts, coaches, executives, and observers very excited. His ability to change a game in many ways whether it be with his legs, glove, bat or arm make him a candidate to become a five tool player. At 6-foot-4, 225-pounds, Demi has run between a 6.39-6.50 on many occasions, as well shown impressive power at the plate. His combination of power and speed, along with his physical prowess make him a can’t miss prospect.

Minor League Update: In his first stint of professional baseball, Orimoloye attacked and impressed, making the Brewers look like geniuses with their fourth round selection. All Demi did was bat .292 with 40 hits in 33 games. Displayed his power and speed with a team high six home runs and 19 stolen bases while adding 9 doubles, two triples, and a team leading 26 RBI’s to pad to his stats. Look for Orimoloye to have continued success and improve his all around game as he makes his trek towards the big leagues.
