T12 Tryout Notes - Dorchester

By Ryan Friele

With Tournament 12 this year, the tryout process here in Ontario is a little different than in the past. It has always been at the Rogers Centre but in 2018, T12 will regionalize their camps and we were in Dorchester, Ontario to take a look at some of the faces in attendance.

Eric Martin OF / RHP / St. Mary's, ON / 2019

Report: The 6-foot-5 Martin had a nice showing during the tryout and proved why he is ranked number six in the 2019 class. He moves well for his size and ran a slightly wind-aided 6.7-second 60. Swinging from the left side, Martin has natural bat speed with a solid path through the ball. The hands remain still and there is little wasted movement resulting in loud contact. With a slight uppercut swing, he gets the ball in the air often and has the strength to hit for power. In the outfield, he displayed quick feet and a good transfer. The arm strength is there with most throws on target with zip. The arm has the potential to impact games and cut down the running game. The Indiana State commit continues to develop and will be one to watch at this year’s edition of Tournament 12.
