Toronto Fall Open ID: Quick Hits

Cam Black-Araujo
Lead Scout, PBR Canada

On Tuesday, October 11th, the PBR Ontario staff setup shop at Connervale Park in Etobicoke, Ontario for our final outdoor showcase of the fall. It was a lengthy roster with over 85 players in attendance with a good combination from each class in the 2022 - 2026 range.

Each player ran through a pro-style workout utilizing our state-of-the-art tech partners to compile data throughout the workout. All batting practice data was collected through TrackMan while athletic testing was collected through Swift Performance.

With our final outdoor showcase in the books and a ton of talent to break down, we continue do so below as we provide reports and video on six of the biggest standouts from the event.

Marco da Gama OF / RHP / Silverthorn Collegiate Institute, ON / 2023

2023 OF Marco da Gama (Ontario Blue Jays) was one of several intriguing unsigned seniors in attendance but may have been the best of that bunch. Toolsy player who posted good numbers across the board, starting with throws up to 87mph in the outfield which was top at the event. The right-handed hitter had one of the more consistent rounds of BP on the day, working hard line drives to all fields with a simple, quick and short stroke. Was also among the top three in 10-yard split and 60-yard dash. 2023 who junior college coaches need to know.

Tyler Wingfield OF / Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute, ON / 2023

2023 Tyler Wingfield (Leaside) was another senior outfielder to show well. His actions and energy standout immediately and his arm worked up to 83mph with carry and accuracy. Small frame at 5-foot-10, 152-pounds but he creates a quick left-handed bat through the zone and showed some more muscle through his round last night than we’ve previously seen. Top exit velocity of 87mph. Wingfield has definitely added strength over the year and it’s showing in all areas of his game.

Logan Forgie LHP / OF / West Carleton, ON / 2026

2026 LHP/OF Logan Forgie (ONC) is a name that jumped onto the scene at Tuesday’s showcase. He immediately caught our eye in the outfield with a clean left-handed arm that worked up to 83mph. It’s a strong build already from Forgie at 5-foot-11, 195-pounds and the fastball sat 79-82mph T83 with life through the zone. It’s compact delivery with short arm action and he had the ability to spin the ball well at 60-61. A 2026 arm from the Ottawa Nepean Canadians program that could create some buzz over the next 2-3 years.

Raine Kreklewetz OF / 3B / Saint mikes college school , ON / 2026

2026 OF/3B Raine Kreklewetz (Ontario Blue Jays) was another major standout on Tuesday from the underclassmen. Physical, imposing frame catches your attention immediately at 6-foot-0, 175-pounds and moves well with some looseness for his size. Flashed a good arm both in the outfield (81mph) and at third base (80mph) and looked the part at both positions. Looks the part in the box with his size from the left side, working up to an 86mph exit velocity with some projectable power. Another 2026 who should be on the scene for several years to come.

Cam Gravelle SS / 2B / Grimsby, ON / 2024

2024 MIF Cam Gravelle (Ontario Royals) was a standout at the Blue Jays Canadian Futures Showcase and carried that into the Toronto Fall Open. Was one of the top infielders with a combination of athleticism, footwork and actions, as well as arm strength and accuracy. 5-foot-8, 160-pounds with a smooth left-handed swing that posted a top exit velocity of 89mph. Also tested well on Swift with one of the top verticals and 10-yard splits. Well rounded toolset was on display from Gravelle who’s put together a good fall season.

Trent Rudge RHP / 3B / Essex District , ON / 2026

2026 3B Trent Rudge (Windsor Selects) is one of the strongest players we’ve seen to date from the 2026 class and he had that on display throughout the event. As one of the youngest players in attendance, he posted the top infield velo at 84mph. 5-foot-10, 215-pounds with raw power from the right-side. Posted a top exit velocity of 88mph which was also tops in his class.
