Toronto Fall Open ID: Quick Hits II

Cam Black-Araujo
Lead Scout, PBR Canada

On Tuesday, October 11th, the PBR Ontario staff setup shop at Connervale Park in Etobicoke, Ontario for our final outdoor showcase of the fall. It was a lengthy roster with over 85 players in attendance with a good combination from each class in the 2022 - 2026 range.

Each player ran through a pro-style workout utilizing our state-of-the-art tech partners to compile data throughout the workout. All batting practice data was collected through TrackMan while athletic testing was collected through Swift Performance.

With our final outdoor showcase in the books and a ton of talent to break down, we continue do so below with another set of Quick Hits, taking a look at five more standouts from the event.

Callum Blue 1B / RHP / Garth Webb Secondary Schol, ON / 2023

2023 Callum Blue put up an impressive round of BP at Tuesday's showcase. Tall, lean frame at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds and is more upright in the box with the hands starting high. Conistently worked the pullside throughout his round with a high quantity of barrels. TrackMan gave him 100 % barrels and his avg exit velocity of 88.2mph was by far the best at the event. Projectable left-handed swing and poses a lot of upside on the mound as well. Intriguing unsigned senior right here.

Lucas Cordeiro 3B / RHP / Michael Power/St Josephs, ON / 2026

2026 INF/RHP Lucas Cordeiro was another of the younger players in attendance but impressed with a good overall day. His infield velo of 78mph was tied for 4th at the event and looks the part with proper actions at 3B. 5-foot-9, 150-pounds with plenty of growing to come. Right-handed hitter put together a good round of BP with a lot of barrels (60%) and some sneaky pop for his size. Top exit velocity of 87.7mph.

Owen Levesque OF / St Joseph's , ON / 2023

2023 OF Owen Levesque put up one of the better days at the Toronto Fall Open ID. He had everyone's attention during his round of BP where he had the best avg distance (271 ft) and a top exit velo of 91mph. Big, physical frame at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds with some raw power, handling the wood bat well in the cold weather. Also tested well athletically with the top 10-yard split (1.75sec) and an above average vertical. The look of a senior bat that should draw some attention from college coaches.

Aidan Quimpo SS / 2B / St.Theresa of Lisieux, ON / 2024

2024 Aidan Quimpo impressed on Tuesday in nearly every area of the event. Was near the top in most Swift metrics (7.42 60-yard) and moves well with good actions on the infield. Finished is day with a good round of BP where he worked to all fields with a clean right-handed swing and top exit velocity of 87.9mph. 5-foot-11, 180-pound middle infielder who does a lot of things right on the field.

Luc Gelinas 2B / SS / St. Maximilian Kolby, ON / 2024

2024 middle infielder Luc Gelinas jumped out with a loud round of BP from the right side and top exit velo of 86.9mph. The 5-foot-11, 145-pounder consistently found the sweet spot (75%) and was able to lift for some power. Good look offensively already with lots of room to add strength. Projectable power. Actions and profile could have him play up the middle or competently play several other positions to keep his bat in the lineup.
