The class of 2026 became eligible for communication with college coaches on August 1st and we've seen six players go off the board, including four Future Gamers. The class is slowly maturing as they're now in the midst of Grade 11 and top players went through their first national showcase circuit this past year with events like the Future Games, Best of the West Tournament, Canadian Futures Showcase and more.

We've now seen the best of the best on the field together on several occassions which has allowed us to really lock in on how players perform with top counterparts. As we've become more familiar with the class, we've now expanded the rankings to include 100 prospects and will continue to expand each time we make an update throughout the year. While there was no changes within the Top 5, there was plenty of movement inside the Top 100 as well as several newcomers.

Below, we'll break down several players in the Top 10, Notable Risers, Fall Showcase Standouts and Sleepers. There's a ton of uncommitted talent still on the board and we feature a long list of them inside this article.

INSIDE THE TOP 10

INF Robert Omidi (Fieldhouse Pirates/Kentucky): Omidi has been a mainstay at the top of Ontario’s 2026 rankings for a while now. Elite left-handed bat with advanced approach at the plate with bat-to-ball and power. Performed against top competition all summer long, including on his first trip with the Canadian Junior National team.

SS Elliot Lascelles (Toronto Mets/Yale): A breakout year for Lascelles, he owned the gaps at the plate with impressive bat-to-ball skills. Clean actions on the dirt and an accurate arm with some strength, Lascelles has the ability to play the left-side of the infield. The 6.68 sec runner is one of the most well-rounded players in the country.

RHP Jack Potts (Great Lake Canadians/Uncommitted): There’s tons to dream on with Potts at 6-foot-6, 175-pounds. Came onto the scene this summer and has seen his name in the top 10 in our last couple ranking updates. The fastball is in the 86-88 range with a curveball and splitter. It will be interesting to see where Potts is at in the spring of 2025.

RHP Nathan Wall (Great Lake Canadians/Uncommitted): Another Great Lake Canadian arm with tons of projection, Wall stands at 6-foot-5, 210-pounds with a fastball that’s been up to 90 mph and mixes in a 74-76 mph curveball. Look for Wall to continue to mature on the mound as one of the top arms in the province.

NOTABLE RISERS

INF Jamie Moore (Great Lake Canadians/Evansville): Moore recently went off the board with his commitment to Evansville and is part of an exclusive group of seven 2026 players in the country who are committed to Division I programs. The power from the left-side is what first captures your attention as the Great Lake Canadian put together one of the best rounds of BP at the Canadian Futures Showcase in Toronto with an exit velocity of 102.5mph with a wood bat. Moore established himself as one of the most productive 2026 bats in the country and it’s no surprise to see him jump to No. 12.

RHP Matthias Lipka (Team Ontario Astros/Uncommitted): Our staff has long been a fan of Lipka with a big, strong frame on the mound at 6-foot-4, 180-pounds and still more room to add strength. The fastball velocity continues to trend upwards and has shown the ability to attack the zone against quality hitters. While Lipka has developed well over the past year, you can expect more from the Team Ontario Astros product during 2025.

RHP Evan Wallace (Fieldhouse Pirates/Uncommitted): Wallace was one of the biggest risers throughout the summer among 2026 arms and his stuff already generates outs/whiffs, but there’s plenty more projection. Wallace is another that looks ready to take off during the summer of his junior year with the Fieldhouse Pirates.

FALL SHOWCASE STANDOUTS

RHP/OF Ben Sommerfeldt (Ontario Yankees/Uncommitted): Sommerfeldt was one of the top arms to take the mound during our Fall Scout Days and was one of the biggest risers in our updated 2026 rankings. The 6-foot-2, 178-pounds and the fastball sat 85-87mph with a peak spin rate of 2470rpm. He also featured a trio of offspeed pitches with a curveball, changeup and splitter. Sommerfeldt will be a 2026 to follow throughout the summer with the Ontario Yankees.

OF/SS Daniel Tcherniavski (Barrie Baycats/Uncommitted): Tchernavski put in a ton of work over the course of 2024 and it showed at the Barrie Baycats Scout Day as he stood atop the leaderboards in nearly every major metric. He ran a 6.76 60-yard, was 88mph from the outfield, 84mph across the infield and generated the top exit velocity at 90.7mph.

RHP Logan Lavigne (Barrie Baycats/Uncommitted): Lavigne developed really well on the mound since we saw him last fall at the Barrie Baycats Scout Day and there looks to be plenty more in the tank as his 6-foot-4, 170-pound frame fills out. The fastball sat comfortably at 81-83mph and the offspeed stuff will be an important factor this upcoming year as he looks to take another jump on the mound.

PROSPECTS TO FOLLOW IN 2025

C Gabriel Larocque (Sudbury Voyageurs/Uncommitted): Larocque possesses the best catch/throw behind the dish in Canada’s 2026 class, led by some real arm arm strength. It’s the defensive side of his game that will have college coaches ringing his phone, but the bat showed flashes throughout the summer including a triple to CF warning-track against a high-end arm at the Future Games.

RHP/INF Cam Tully (Ontario Blue Jays/Uncommitted): We got our first look at Tully at the Ontario Blue Jays Scout Day and didn’t know if the positional side or pitching side would take the first jump. He steadily got better throughout the year and finished up with a strong showing on the mound at the Canadian Futures Showcase where he sat 84-86mph with feel to spin it and a three-pitch mix. 6-foot-3, 175-pound athlete who should get plenty of attention this upcoming year.

INF Christian Iriotakis (Toronto Mets/Uncommitted): Iriotakis was another big riser over the course of 2024 and showed what he’s capable of at the Canadian Futures Showcase as he fit in with elite players, some 1-2 years older than him. Left-handed hitting infielder with strength to come at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds and is a name college coaches need to circle as one of the top uncommitted 2026 positional players in Ontario, and even Canada.

DON'T SLEEP ON

RHP Matthew Neufeld (Windsor Selects/Uncommitted): Neufeld has long possessed some of the best arm strength in Ontario’s 2026 class and solidified himself as a top arm in the class as he showed well at several high-profile events this past year. XL frame at 6-foot-4, 215-pounds, the fastball consistently sits in the upper-80s it plays up with some deception from his short arm-action.

MIF Jack Ward (Great Lake Canadians/Uncommitted): Ward really propelled himself into the Top 20 with his ability to put the ball in the play and then move himself around the bases with speed. Our staff saw him take a Michigan Wolverines arm off the wall, proving his ability to find the barrel against high-quality arms. Left-handed hitter with scrappy-style of play that helps teams win games.

RHP Alex Landry (Ontario Blue Jays/Uncommitted): Landry feels like a sleeper in the class right now and is primed for a strong 2025 after putting together a dominant run at the 15U level this past summer. Worked with a two-pitch mix this past summer but that’s all he needed as the slider generated a ton of whiffs and was especially tough on right-handed hitters with sweeping actions. There’s plenty to like already, with more development and gains to come.
