On Friday, February 14th, the Prep Baseball Ontario staff hosted it's second event of the 2025 season with the Sold Out Mississauga Preseason Invite at The Athlete Turf Inc. in Mississauga, Ontario, home of the Ontario Blue Jays.

This event featured 80+ prospects in the 2025 - 2028 classes and it was a strong group to open up three straight sold-out events in Ontario that will feature some of the top players in their respective classes as players are competing for roster spots on Canada/Ontario's National Team's at events such as the Future Games, Senior Future Games, West Coast Games, New York State Games, NorthEast Senior Games and the Best of the West.

All player ran through a full workout that included batting practice and bullpens captured on our TrackMan, as well as 30-yard springs captured by VALD Performance. Over the next several days we'll be highlighting top performers from the event within our post-event analysis. Exit Velocity: This metric measures the speed of the ball, measured in miles per hour, as it comes off the bat at the moment of contact.

BATTED BALL DISTANCE (MAX)

BATTED BALL DISTANCE (AVG.)

Distance: This metric measures how far the ball traveled, or would travel if it was not obstructed, measured in feet.

HARD HIT %

Hard Hit % - Percentage of batted balls with an exit velocity of 90 MPH or higher.

SWEET SPOT %

Sweet Spot percentage: This metric is determined by how often the player produces a batted ball during the session with a launch angle between 8 to 32 degrees.

LINE DRIVE %

Line Drive % - Percentage of line drives hit during a given set of batted ball events. Trackman defines a line drive as any batted ball with a launch angle between 10 degrees and 24.9 degrees.
