Ontario Scout Blog: Top Uncommitted Seniors

Cam Black-Araujo
Assistant Director, Prep Baseball Canada

We're now well into the year of 2025 and despite the cold weather still entrenching our day with inconveniences such as shovelling snow or scraping off our cars, the anticipation has already began to build as we're now less than a month out from our showcase season's opener with the Sold Out Canada College & University Showcase on February 9th.

With the season slowly creeping up already, we're starting to see more and more names fly off the board in Ontario as we're now up to 145+ commitments in the provinces senior class alone. While there's been a substantial amount of commitments, there's still a ton of high-end talent on the board in the class as several big names hold out for the 2026 class.

16 of the Top 50 in the Class are still on the board, including two names inside the Top 10. Below, our staff will break down nine of the top uncommitted prospects in the province with scouting notes and video on how they fared this summer/fall and where they may fit into a college program.

'25 OF Ryan Stalony (Fieldhouse Pirates): Stalony has been the top uncommitted outfielders in the province for some time now and has tools that will fit in and even stand out in a collegiate program. We’ve clocked him with a 6.68 60-yard, up to 90mph from the outfield and generates 100+ mph exit velocities. Stalony flashed his power last summer at the 17U level with several loud homeruns and looks to have added some size throughout the winter. The Future Games alumni was a 2024/2025 grad and is looking for a home this upcoming fall.

'25/26 LHP Logan Forgie (Ontario Blue Jays): Logan Forgie quickly emerged as one of the better 2025 arms in the province following a strong showing at the 2022 Toronto Fall ID and has continued to excel since then. The strong 6-foot-1, 217-pound left-hander consistently sits in the upper-80s with quality secondary stuff and feel to spin the ball with a slider, curveball and changeup mix. Highly intriguing arm in Ontario who has experience with the Canadian Junior National Team and although he graduates in 2025, he will be reclassifying to a 2026 following the summer.

'25/26 3B Hudson Kiss (Team Ontario Astros): Hudson Kiss barged into the Ontario rankings rather quickly with impressive showings indoors during the spring and backed it up with an equally strong summer season. The left-handed hitter showed feel to hit and find the gaps, as well as confidently defend on the left-side of the infield with arm strength across the diamond. Kiss battled through the late summer/fall with some bumps and bruises but cracked the Ontario 17U Youth Team, as well as the Blue Jays Canadian Futures Showcase. Kiss is looking for a high-academic school and is eligible as a 2025, as well as a 2026 if he remains uncommitted through the summer.

'25/26 SS Matthew Kolodziej (Fieldhouse Pirates): Kolodziej really impressed our staff throughout the preseason and carried that through to the summer where he was named to several national events including the Senior Future Games, Canada Cup and the Blue Jays Canadian Futures Showcase. The left-handed hitting shortstop still has some strength to come, standing at 6-foot-2, 185-pounds and the offensive game is more hit over power right now. Kolodziej has the signs of sticking on the left-side and his defensive tools should stand out at third base should he end up there. It will be fun to see where a refreshed Kolodzjiej game is at following the winter break.

'25/26 RHP Nick Halcovitch (Toronto Mets): Halcovitch is another top unsigned senior in Ontario who will be moving back to the 2026 class and needs to be on the radar of Division I college coaches heading into the summer of 2025. Will be mature for the 2026 class as he’ll be 19 when he steps on campus and it’s a physically imposing frame at 6-foot-4, 220-pounds. Halcovitch really popped off last spring following a strong winter of training that saw his velocity jump into the upper-80s. The slider has shown to be his most reliable secondary offering but also features a curveball and changeup with the ability to throw all for strikes. Intriguing overall profile from Halcovitch and has a chance to be a workhorse in college as he continues to refine his secondary stuff.

'25 OF Raine Kreklewetz (Ontario Blue Jays/Northeastern Oklahoma A&M - Jan 14): Kreklewetz is the top uncommitted outfielder in Ontario’s senior class and is another prospect on this list who’s also eligible as a 2026. Athletic, proportionate frame at 6-foot, 180-pounds with more strength on the way and came through during several big moments this past summer with clutch extra-base hits at the Senior Future Games and Canada Cup. There’s extra-base power at the dish and he defends well in the outfield where he profiles as a right fielder with arm strength (90mph in April) and 7.15 60-yard dash. Potential impact positional player still on the board in Ontario.

'25/26 OF Kenyon Sikkema (Fieldhouse Pirates): Sikkema is another outfielder here who likely shuffles back to the 2026 class and immediately becomes a can’t-miss positional prospect within the class. It’s the size and offensive projection that garner your attention as the 6-foot-4, 200-pound left-handed hitter still has strength on the way. Sikkema’s ability to impact the baseball at the dish will be a big carrying tool in his game so our staff is interested to see where he’s at physically once we head outdoors in May. Another name who really put together a really strong 2024 season and will be a fun watch throughout the remainder of his high school career.

'25 RHP Hank Lloyd (Ontario Blue Jays): Lloyd is currently our top uncommitted senior who is NOT eligible as a 2026, meaning he’s currently looking for a home this upcoming fall. Lloyd was one of the more consistent arms across the province this summer, consistently generating swing/miss on the fastball and breaking ball. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-hander fills up the zone and is composed on the mound, working deep into the majority of his games with the Blue Jays this past summer. Will be a great late addition to whichever school’s recruiting class snatches him up.

'25/26 INF Zach Barker (Ontario Blue Jays): It seems like Barker somewhat flew under the radar the first half of the year but quickly propelled himself into conversations with consistent barrels against elite competition. There’s present strength at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds and he racked up the extra-base hits throughout the summer, finding the gaps nearly every time we saw him. An exciting uncommitted third-baseman who’s also eligible as a 2026 and continues to get better and better within small windows of time. One of the more impactful bats still on the board in Canada’s 2025 class.
