2022 Overall Rankings Update - Oregon Prospects

Earlier today, Prep Baseball Report released an update to the 2022 national rankings.
The list is compromised of prospects from all over the country based on evaluations from our national scouts as well as individual state directors. Class rankings are updated and expanded multiple times throughout the year all the way until a class is set to graduate.
Since its inception in 2005, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country’s biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive year-round coverage in every state we are in. The mission of the Prep Baseball Report is to scout and promote amateur baseball - high school, junior college and college - and, ultimately, help athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level.
With more than 150 scouts, we have the largest baseball scouting infrastructure across all levels of amateur baseball in the country. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.
At the state level, Oregon had 2 prospects land in the Top 500. RHP Isaac Hill (Hidden Valley) and OF Canon Reeder (Summit). Both Oregon State commits. Hill has long been the #1 player in Oregon for 2022 in our eyes and continues to hold onto that spot. Reeder was a 'riser' in our updated state rankings and has climbed into the national list for the first time.
Oregon and a lot of other West Coast prospects have faced significant adversity over the last year when it comes to their baseball careers. As things hopefully begin to open up and players are allowed to get back on the diamond more consistently, we will be there to cover the action and stay up-to-date on player news and developments.

Isaac Hill, RHP, Hidden Valley, Oregon State commit
Hill's projectable build has consistently filled out and the added physicality shows in his 6-foot-1, 190 pound frame. Pitches has a short, clean arm stroke and a consistent feel for his mechanics. His strong lower half allows him to maintain his body control while getting down the slope and repeat his delivery. When Hill first cracked our ranking as an underclassmen, he was working in the mid-to-upper 80's with his FB. He has since added velocity to his repertoire and more routinely will be in the upper 80's - low 90's. The easy effort to his delivery gives him a 'starter profile' and elevates his overall prospect status. The simplicity in his delivery/mechanics helps him stay behind the ball and control his breaking ball and CH. Giving him a complete 3-pitch arsenal. Also worth mentioning that while Hill really excels on the mound, he's a very capable athlete on the diamond with the ability to handle SS and also do damage at the plate.
Canon Reeder, OF, Summit, Oregon State commit
Reeder has always been a 'toolsy' athlete with exciting twitch in his game. As he's continued to develop, the athleticism has steadily improved with his physical maturation. Specifically, his game-changing speed really stands out as a well-above average weapon for him. Clocked a 4.47 with a turn down to first on a single and has been sub 4.0 on a push bunt. As he continues to get more seasoning and play against high level competition, his make-up and work ethic should help him refine his overall game even more and allow that speed to play-up on the offensive side of things. Offensively, while Reeder might be slight of frame at 6-foot, roughly 160-170 pounds, there is wiry strength throughout his build and plenty of bat speed to make him a consistent gap-to-gap threat. His loose, quick hands help him control the barrel and he's shown aptitude for consistently putting the ball in play. Expect Reeder to continually improve and develop into a dynamic offensive threat with the ability to be an above average defender in the OF.
