Overall Summary
Grants Pass enters the 2025 season with high expectations after returning a good portion of their varsity roster from a season ago. The Cavemen feature several returners in the lineup, including senior Reese Reynolds, who hit over .340 last spring. Senior infielder and Northwest Nazarene Jace McGowan returns as a sound piece up the middle, and may see increased action on the mound. Junior Evan Valenzuela offers some positional versatility and bat-to-ball skills from the left hand side. Another junior Nathan Bassett returns to do the catching, and has impressed at multiple looks at Prep Baseball events. Though the Cavemen do lose their top two arms from last season, they do still have some depth present, lead by senior RHP Bayden Morris. Morris threw 29 quality innings last spring. Transfer Cameron Holland is another arm to keep an eye on this season. Head coach Kyle Garrison is circling matchups with Summit and South Salem as big games for his side. With several returning varsity contributors, look for Grants Pass to improve on their 2024 record and be among the top teams in the Southwestern Conference.
