SL: 74-76 mph. Tight shape with slight downer action & limited sweep. Almost works as a cutter with more depth.

CH: 77-78. Kills spin well with an avg of 1,447 rpm. Shows tumble with both fade and sinking action into the zone

Overall: One of the top remaining uncommitted arms in 2023 class. Strong combination of size with present stuff and potential for 3 pitch mix. Clean operation throughout, has the chance to make significant strides as he gets consistent innings. Low mileage arm.

Declan Francis RHP / 1B / Lake Oswego, OR / 2023

Positional Profile: RHP

Body: Stocky, physical. Strong throughout. 6’1, 225 lbs

Delivery: Stretch only. High, coiled leg lift. Rotates into back hip well as he stays tall. Slight drop & drive action at hand break. Level shoulders into landing. Clean direction with upright finish.

Arm Action: Short and powerful. Ball stays high at takeaway. Works straight back, avoids wrapping. Compact release. Ball comes out from behind ear.

FB: Peak 86.8 mph. Range 85-86. Peak rpm at 2,129. Carries into the zone with life. Heavy action when down.

CB: 70-72 with high spin, 2,817 avg rpm. Hard, downer action with 12/6 shape. Potential to be above avg offering in future with added polish.

CH: 80-82. A bit firm but flashes late tumble with depth.

Overall: Well proportioned athlete with strong, powerful levers and sturdy build. Repeats mechanics well & utilizes simplified delivery. FB/CB combo plays well off of each other. Competitive demeanor on the bump.

Matthew Tacheny RHP / OF / Clackamas, OR / 2023

Positional Profile: RHP

Body: 6’3, 205 lbs. Strong bodied. Long levers

Delivery: Exclusively stretch. Starts centered on rubber. Quick paced leg lift. Up, down and out movement. Shoulders stay level as back leg pushes down slope. Lengthy stride into landing. Simple actions, very few moving parts. Upright, rotation finish.

Arm Action: Lower ¾ release with long, whippy finish. Full extension after hand break with continuous path. Shortens up & gets compact into release. Hand speed out front.

FB: 81-83, peak 84.4. Likely more on the way with added strength. Consistent arm side run. Attacked primarily with FB on this look, working to both sides of the plate & allowing movement to induce weak contact.

SL: Flashed a tight, darting SL in warm-ups with late, cutter-ish type action.

CH: Showed in warm-up. Tumbles hard from FB release with heavy life

Overall: Provides a unique look from the right side and has the potential to be especially tough on RHH. Velocity plays up due to release point and action on the ball. Didn’t need secondary offerings to be successful in this outing but they flash potential to help give him a well-rounded arsenal

JD Cannon RHP / 2B / Tigard , OR / 2023

Positional Profile: RHP/INF

Body: 5’7, 140 lbs with higher waisted frame and lean strength

Delivery: From the stretch, comes set in middle of rubber with alignment towards catcher. Controlled leg lift into balance. Stays tall with level shoulders. Some drop & drive action into stride. Controls center mass as he drifts into landing. Extension out at release with balanced finish.

Arm Action: Quick arm path after hand break. Higher takeaway with ball working straight back. High ¾ slot. Slight pause while staying compact then works through release

FB: Up to 84, primarily 82-83 this look with consistent control. Induced consistent weak, ground ball contact

CB: 66-70. 11/5 shape with depth & bend

CH: 74-75. Flashes above avg arm side run/fade at its best. Throws with FB hand speed & conviction.

Overall: Actions and athleticism from INF ability translates well to the mound. Works quick, goes right at hitters, pitches to contact. Competitive attitude on the bump with aggressive intent. FB gets on hitters quickly and can beat their barrel.

Austin Wolfe LHP / 1B / Mountainside , OR / 2023

Delivery: Easy & fluid. Flashes repeatable mechanics and body control. Quick, steady pace with intent out front. Balanced leg lift, stays tall on backside at hand break. Level shoulders into landing. Very polished

Arm Action: Clean & continuous. Full arm swing with quickness and compact release. ¾ slot that repeats for all of his offerings. Chance to add more velo with strength.

FB: Mostly 80-81 with sustainable effort & control. Life/hop into the zone with deceiving extension

CB: 71-72. Short, tight downer action with 11/5 shape. More depth than sweep

SL: 70-71. Peak rpm of 2,337. Cutter type shape with late, darting break to glove side. Spin rate offers chance to add more sweeping action/horizontal movement.

CH: 73-74. Plays well off of FB as more of a straight CH with late tumble action
