Updated 2021 Oregon Rankings

Although we don't know for certain when baseball will be back, the time has come to expand our player rankings in the 2021 class for the first time. Our initial look at this group of prospects only focused on the Top 10 players in the state. While there hasn't been a lot of movement towards the top since then, you'll see a few new names added to the Top 10 as well as 20 additional prospects to round out the list of 30. 

 If we get the chance, we will be out in full force this spring to get updated notes/video on players and potentially expand the list with even more prospects

Since its inception in 2005, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country’s biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive year-round coverage in every state we are in. The mission of the Prep Baseball Report is to scout and promote amateur baseball - high school, junior college and college - and, ultimately, help athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level. With more than 150 scouts, we have the largest baseball scouting infrastructure across all levels of amateur baseball in the country.

The Prep Baseball Report is the No. 1 resource for amateur baseball in each state we cover through our variety of events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state.  While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

Rankings are based off evaluations by scouting director Dan Jurik as well as additional PBR scouts across the country who have seen prospects from the state at various events.

Mason Guerra SS / 1B / Westview, OR / 2021

Oregon State commit

The #1 player in the state for the ‘21 class and a top 250 national prospect, Guerra is starting to take his game to the next level with added physicality and strength. His 6-foot-3, 192 pound frame is holding noticeably more mass than earlier this spring. His fluid defensive actions are still prevalent and he is able to get the ball across the diamond with minimal effort. At the plate, the contact is loud and his high, two-handed finish thru could allow him to tap into some serious power this spring. Generates his bat speed with minimal effort. Hands stay quiet and he remains balanced in the box. 

George Eisenhardt RHP / OF / Lakeridge, OR / 2021

Xavier commit

Former Future Games standout who continues to take strides with his pure stuff and overall refinement. The lean, wiry frame has more added strength now and he's holding FB velocity at 87-89 consistently now. Secondary offerings have also shown improvement on our recent looks

Wilson Weber C / 3B / Sam Barlow, OR / 2021

Oregon State commit

Weber has ascended into the national rankings after showing well at multiple events this off-season. The athletic backstop can pop between a 1.86 - 2.00 and continues to improve as a receiver. At the plate, he shows plenty of bat speed while staying balanced & under control

Cameron Clayton SS / 2B / Lakeridge, OR / 2021

Portland commit

Proportionally built with some present strength at 6-foot, 185 pounds. The actions of the game come very naturally to Clayton. He consistently shows the ability to be a sure-handed defender with the versatility to handle multiple INF positions. Offensively his clean, fluid swing has always produced consistent line-drive contact and he's started to show more power and bat speed as he gets older.

Josh Schleichardt 3B / 2B / Tigard, OR / 2021

Boise State commit

The powerful INF’er continues to flash some of the most impressive bat speed we’ve seen in the PNW. Produces loud contact and has above average raw power. He’s also showing steady progress defensively with light, active feet and improving arm strength.

 

Kyle Sullivan RHP / West Linn, OR / 2021

Portland commit

Long, lanky and projectable on the bump. Sullivan has an ideal pitcher's frame with a clean arm that should allow him to improve his pure stuff as he continues to get stronger and add more innings. Shows feel for 3 pitch mix. 

Carson Lydon 1B / LHP / Churchill , OR / 2021

Oregon commit

Strong, compact frame. Powerful left-handed stick with a mature approach and the ability to control the strike zone. Also has shown ability on the mound with feel for a FB/CB combination. 

Harrison Howell RHP / OF / Hood River Valley, OR / 2021

Portland commit

Strong, polished RHP. Works from a ¾ slot with consistent intent on all of his offerings. Showed feel for 3-pitch-mix. Throwing actions are balanced & controlled, which should allow Howell to maintain his stuff deep into starts. 

Malcolm Williams SS / RHP / Lake Oswego, OR / 2021

Santa Clara commit

Lean, athletic build with some projection left. Moves well defensively with clean actions and arm strength across the diamond. Simple set-up in the box with easy bat speed and the chance to tap into more power as he continues to mature

Spencer Scott SS / 2B / Grant, OR / 2021

Portland commit

6-foot, 180 pounds with a lean build and sloped upper body. Scott is a well-rounded INF prospect headed to the Portland Pilots. Puts a controlled move on the ball in the box and has some adjustability in his swing. Defensively, he moves with ease laterally and maintains a tight, short throwing motion.
